My ionic won't turn on after I shut it down. I hold down the large button on the left and nothing. And it won't charge either. Am I doing something wrong? I haven't even had it for 24 hrs

I've had my ionic for maybe year and it has never worked consistently and now it's just dead, I paid an arm and a leg for this thing.

Well it is virtually dead again, happened because of another update!!!! Not holding out much luck to getting it working again. This device is obviously flawed and why Fitbit as a company do not stand by their product is beyond belief. I certainly will not be buying another product of them and will be spreading the word that based on my experience with the device and the company that DO NOT buy FitBit

Mine is doing the same thing and it doesn't show that its charging do I still leave it charging for 1 to 2 hours?

I am not even sure they are making or supporting the ionic any more.  I have been to a couple stores and haven’t seen them with any of the Fitbit products.  I am sure they are aware of the issue, but due to the recent acquisition by Google they are turning a blind eye so...ignorance is bliss I guess.  It really is too bad, but on a positive note, I have been using a Garmin Vivoactive music and absolutely love it!

I tried getting fitbit to do the right thing and replacing mine and they
wouldn't, you're better off throwing it in the trash and boycotting all of
their products.

I have done all the troubleshooting as well. Still no response from my ionic. It was working fine last night when I plugged it in it was charging fine when I set it down. I woke up this morning and it was completely dead no response at all. So I have clean the terminals clean the USB plug change charging blocks and try to hard reset none of those things have worked I have had this Fitbit for just about a year.

Just a heads up it happened to me as well. Fitbit Ionic didn't turn on after shutting it down (updated to the latest OS 70.7.14, more than 90% battery). Had to press all three buttons for around a minute to turn it on (pressing just the left button didn't help)

Hey Shai

I have same problem. Seems that new owner of Fitbit (Google) sent a trojan with latest OS 70.7.14. and broke our watches.

Anyone with same problem?

I have had the same problem with my Ionic. It was fine one night and dead in the morning. In the past 2 weeks I have tried all the suggestions noted here. I've pressed all the buttons, cleaned the contacts, charged it directly from an outlet, changed the charging cord and block, tried to reset in all ways that I could find, got a free-standing magnetic charger instead of the regular cord, and get nothing except a blank screen. I am so frustrated with this expensive watch. I thought I was buying a high end device to help me monitor my health after a heart attack. I am on disability, and don't have the ability to buy a replacement watch. I'm out of ideas to revive this device. Anything I have missed here?

Hi, I did a hard reset as this was the forum recommended action to sort the problem with the ionic not counting my swim laps.  It is now dead. It does not respond to 2 button or 3 button press and hold.  I have charged from a wall socket and from a laptop. What else can I try?  I'm seeing a lot of similar messages - should I give up with Fitbit and seek an alternative?

I'm in the UK so I don't think I can use the USA BBB.  I can however choose to not spend my cash on Fitbit products anymore. Any recommendations? I swim, walk and do yoga and weights.

Sorry, but you should try either 1) Finding a new device that meets your needs, or, 2) Waiting for Google to complete the acquisition at which time a company with ethics will recognize the 10s of thousands of bricked Ionics and fix or discontinue the defective product.

Google's acquisition may be reducing in value as we desert the Fitbit brand for a more reliable manufacturer.  Samsung Galaxy or a Garmin could be on my list to Santa.
