I own a Blaze which on the whole I am happy with. However, I would like an additional feature which may mean purchasing a different FitBit or another brand.
What I am looking for is a watch that can help me maintain my workrate during exercise but particularly while running. I do not mind whether the alert is set by heartrate, running pace or other metric. Is there a FitBit product that offers this feature?
I have trawled through the forum to find an answer without success. And I would be grateful not to be invited to raise this as a feature request. The alert for heartrates has been on the feature board for over 3 years without action.
Thanks in anticipation.

@ActiveMike Garmin has supported this for a long, long time, although low-cost models like Forerunner 30 may not. On the high end, say the 935, you can set alerts for just about anything.

I’m sure you can find a Garmin watch that does what you want, since they have several that are very running centric. And, while the Ionic doesn’t have such a feature built-in as far as I know, the Fitbit app store is going to open pretty soon so who knows what third party developers will come up with? Stay tuned. 🙂

@ActiveMike, unfortunately, your last statement answers your question - there have been feature requests for several years to add alerts, but they have not been added to any devices. Other than cues to notify you of certain milestones, there are no alerts available. So, as you requested, I will not suggest you go to the Feature Suggestions Forum and vote up such requests.

Thanks both. Although disappointing, your answers will at least save me from purchasing an Ionic. I will stick with my Blaze for the time being.
Odd that alerts are not offered, I had these on my old Nike HRM and running watch years ago, a far less sophisticated device and old technology.
Thanks again.

I'm not aware of any such products, but then again I'm only familiar with the Fitbit lines. You might try Garmin, as I hear they have decent trackers too.
Happy Thanksgiving!

The ionic supports cues? Would be worth reading up on that, sounds like roughly what you're after?

Thankyou bbarrera just to a look at that link and that is exactly what I would hope for in an activity watch.
All very well keeping records of biometrics but not a great deal of use if they can not be reacted to during training sessions.
Looks like I will need to jump ship to Garmin. Shame really because I really like the FitBit App.
Really struggle to understand why FitBit gets the award for market leader with such a serious shortcoming.
Thanks for all the replies.
