Laps?

We have cues.. what about laps?

If one of the buttons can become a <break> or a lap press, or whatever you want to call it; I want it to stop that timing interval that is accruing and crystalize it and show me what it is on screen for a second.

Accepted Solutions

LAP BUTTON = MANUAL CUE

Yes you CAN create laps with a button press. Just set the exercise to MANUAL CUE then press the top right button in exercise to create the lap.

The results will will show in both FitBit & Strava quite nicely!  😉

If you use the run exercise the app will create splits for each of your cues.  I've tested this with the .5 and 1 mile cues and they both work in this manner. Don't know if that helps?

I'm referring to a press on one of the buttons to create a lap. Very simple coding change, yet very valuable in matching to what a Garmin can do.

Let's say you are doing a running workout:

3x3min (1min recovery), 3x2min (1min recovery), 3x1min (1min recovery).

I hit start on the Run app --

As my watch starts approaching 3min, I am looking and I hit one of the buttons (Lap Press)  -- this creates a Lap (3min lets say 741 meters distance), then I hit Lap Press again after 1 min (1min 120 meters), then again I press it after 3min (3min 752 meters) and so on and on. When this gets uploaded into Strava, it will look like a bunch of laps which then is analyzed in the workout structure within Strava. This is how a Garmin works, and this is the most powerful feature of a running watch (to be able to create your own laps).

It is also the easiest to implement, as this is a manual press by one of the buttons ending the current lap and starting another one.

Its seems like there is a few basic things for this watch that it doesnt have.

Lap button should be the basic option and the ask should actually be programming your workout on your phone/computer where you can load it in and it cues you what to do.

Thanks for your reply.

Is this achieved by Setting 'Show Cues' feature to 'Manually' and then pressing the top right button? Just confirming. 🙂
