Out of the blue the left button on my ionic stopped working, and then the battery died overnight (despite being fully charged when I went to sleep). Then the touchscreen stopped responding so I tried several hard resets and repairing it with my phone, but nothing worked. Finally the watch died altogether. Now it won’t charge and the only sign of life is that everything once in a while the screen shows a blinking empty battery symbol. I’ve tried charging it for days, cleaning connections, making sure the buttons are free from dust, etc. The watch is new and in perfect condition.
All of this happened within 24 hours over a week ago, and I haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone at fitbit. This is super frustrating!!

Well, after numerous attempts to call fitbit and a half dozen emails with no response from the company, I finally received an email suggesting that I should do a device restart as an initial troubleshooting step. As if I haven't gone through all of the steps listed under the troubleshooting portion of the website twice over! What's more, after my own reply to that email two weeks ago, I -- once again -- haven't heard back from fitbit.
Between my own recent experience and what I'm reading about the ionic online, I have now warned my running group to stay away from fitbit. Most are now opting for the Apple watch....
