I love that the Ionic will have music storage. How do you get the music onto the Ionic? Can you transfer songs from other, competing websites that you have already purchased, like from iTunes?

The copyright protection is going to be my issue. If your music is purchased through the iTunes music store, isn't it copyright protected? If this is the case, methinks the majority of users are going to have issues with the transfer not working.

I can't believe you need a desktop computer to download stored playlists? Why not through the Android App, or throght the phones browser???
Do I really have to purchase a desktop computer?

I don't understand, why can't you just download music directly through the fitbit App, straight from the smartphone?
Come on Fit bit, make our lives a little easier....?

I have sent mine back and purchased an iwatch 2....love it. Took me 10 min to sync the music on my iPhone to my iwatch. Got Bluetooth headphones and love it. The Fitbit was too difficult to try and add music.

in response to lots of posts. Fitbit music is a pain in the.... Itunes does work if you have a kid in your house that is an IT geek and gets it set up for you then it is a piece of cake. Hint! google it, that is what my kid did to figure it out. Pandora NSGIMO (Not So Good In My Opinion) never liked it... still don't. Would much prefer Softify and I am not wild about them but like the just a little bit better. As far as battery consumption, forget about it! just the watch doing its normal thing 4 1/2 days maybe 5 barely. Bluetooth music going sucks the life out of the battery. I saw a few post that said 8 hrs... i dont think so and my ionic is only 2 months old. I would assume the GPS does the same as it does in most phones. That being said i "connected" my specific Itunes play list with the Ionic to a powerbeats wireless and it worked albeit i lost the connection several times. Not sure why but i suspect it was battery power level on the Ionic. Iwatch nah.

What if you don't have Pandora premium or a computer that has Windows 10?

Take your phone with you.
Nothing has really changed much for me since switching from a Surge to an Ionic: tried to change my watch face yesterday (6 or 7 times) without any luck, the Ionic Strava app never syncs, neither does the weather app, alerts don't come through to my tracker, music doesn't work (Chromebook, Android smartphone and Spotify user), and Fitbit Pay isn't supported by my bank or any shops I've asked about it.

How did you do this. I’ve been trying to figure it out for a while now

Cant. Unless you have windows 10 on your computer, have to download Fitbit dashboard app. Or if you have pandora prime or Amazon music or something. People have been saying it takes anywher from 3 to 4 hours to get the playlists on their phone. .
If you have none of these like myself and many others. You are **ahem**ed. You cannot download music

Hi, @zoabbas, where have you seen 2.5 gb? The Ionic specs say approx 300 songs.

Hi, @zoabbas, googling that does not produce for me any statements from Fitbit that the Ionic has 2.5 GB for song storage. The product specs simply state approx 300 songs, which I think would be a LOT less than 2.5 GB.

Just got notification of this thread. So here's what I've encountered. If you transfer personal music from your PC I've transferred around 150. But they don't tell you is that's space not including if you use Pandora. And what apps you download. So that's the catch. Which some of the apps are cheesy. Now I'm using Deezer which actually I found way better. Transfer music take ridiculous 4-6 hours which is b**
But deezer I've transfered 200 songs in less than 25 minutes give or take and the the interface is really nice. But of course have to deal with fitbit's operating system. but trust me fitbit is on severe thin ice with me
