I have had my ionic for a week tomorrow. Still have not been able to sync it properly and use it. I have talked to the customer service team multiple times and spent hours trying to trouble shoot with them.
It takes about 2 hours to get it set up. It syncs for about 5 minutes and then disconnects. It then goes back and forth from looking and syncing but never connects.
How long do we need to wait before this gets fixed or they can give some update. I have tried all the trouble shooting including factory reset, etc. Very frustraing.

Today I woke up to 29 emails about this issue...
It all coincided with me not being able to sync yesterday for a few hours..I tried all of the suggestions like restarting the Ionic, turned Bluetooth off and on, restarted the phone etc.. Tried Fitbit Connect on the PC. In all cases it didn't even sync my Fitbit One (I'm using multi Fitbits).
I have changed nothing... turned the phone on.... surprise, surprise ... the Ionic synced immediately.... and the Fitbit One synced as well and now has the same steps etc..
On that basis, it worked today and I have done nothing... Only switched the phone on..!!!!!
In another topic I was suggesting the Fitbit servers could be the issue. I say that because when the Ionic starts syncing from the phone, and I turn the Ionic off the phone keeps syncing and eventually comes up with the red dot with exclamation mark... No message. Doesn't even say looking...
Sitting in exactly the same environment.. WiFi in the house and signals from my neighbors, 4 mobile phones, multiple Fitbits all on... 4G phone tower 200m away, line of site (always get 100% signal strength). Other active Bluetooth devices..
I have asked in the forums for a syncing sequencing from Fitbit but the moderators don't seem to want to address that... Makes me suspicious..
Notifications always work when I can't sync..... Thank goodness I deleted 28 of the 29 emails emails on my phone, because I only received the ones I was interested in on the Ionic..
During the typing of this I have closed and opened the App 3 times and the Ionic and One synced immediately...!!!!!!

I paired my Fitbit Ionic again, and also turned off "Sync all day" and its been working for the past 24 hours or so. It syncs immediately. I do believe this might be an Android issue, as someone pointed out there are a lot of different devices that can't be tested since there are simply too many. I talked with the support yesterday and they linked me to: https://www.fitbit.com/se/devices
My phone is not listed among supported devices. Now, my phone still works, but getting syncing issues could be because it's simply not tested and adjusted for my phone.
Not sure how the Fitbit team works, but I'm an app developer as well and around christmas it tends to turn into a somewhat slowpace work schedule due to the holidays and you rarely release any fixes or updates until after the new years (or a few weeks prior to christmas) since you won't have manpower to fix eventual update issues. So hopefully we will see some fixes in January which addresses the syncing. It's also my experience that Android is a bit more of a hassle to work with since there are so many different phones and models, and you can get really weird issues on specific devices. I remember in one project where we had layout issues on one specific Sony device, and screen brightness issues on another device but it worked well on like 98% of all the other devices according to our support. So it's a bit of a hassle....hope they work this out.

Exchanged my ionic for a new one. Everything has set up fine, apps installed, music loaded and headphones paired. No issues out of the box (same as last time too). I have had no issues with connection or sync within the last 24 hours. Per some advice here I will keep "all day sync" turned off (its supposed to save battery life anyway). I have read some reviews on Amazon that stated once the phone is paired with a different wifi network away from home that these issues start to occur. We will see when or if the bluetooth issues come back. Maybe I can nail down the problem if it does happen again and report back. It was kind of funny waiting in a line to exchange the Ionic and a completely random lady in front of me turned around and said "oh i just returned one of those last week, i couldn't get the bluetooth to connect" Last chance fitbit...let's get a fix ASAP. I still can't believe nobody from fitbit customer service has even tried to calm customers and ensure a fix is on the way.

I could be that you are correct regarding the Sync issue. When I think about it it could be that the problems started for me after I connected to another Wifi network. The only way for me to sync Ionic is to sync it to my Mac and then my IPhone automatic sync (even with BT off!). I really like my Ionic so I hope that they will fix the Sync issues. Maybe I should exchange my to.

Status for this morning... I started my phone, in the same environment at home..... and my Ionic has not been restarted for a few days and wearing 24/7, and went into the Android App
Now 30 minutes later no issues tapped sync and immediate and the Surge also synced.. I have a multi Fitbit setup.
I wish we could get an error message for the red circle and exclamation mark.
The same thing happens on Fitbit Connect on the PC, it errors, and just says "Failed to Sync", try again and it syncs immediately.. which makes me think we are definitely having server connection issues..

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well! If you guys are still experiencing this; please try the following in order to sync:
Also, do you have more than one Fitbit device set to your accounts? If you do, try removing the other Fitbit device and keep only the Ionic. Then, try syncing.
Alternatively, check this helpful article for more details on syncing troubleshooting.
Try these tips and let me know the outcome!

I have a iPhone 6. I did as you said SantiFitbit about turning the Ionic off and now it is working. This is the first time I have had this issue. Got this for Christmas and love it until this issue. Hopefully this continues to work.

@SantiRWe appreciate the tips for syncing... But I need some clarifications.. My error messages are below..
This morning my App syncing struggled through 11 minutes and eventually synced. I lose 1% of phone battery every minute..
The first image is today..The second image is yesterday continual Fitbit Connect.. At 2am Californian time, 9pm in Melbourne I synced multiple times as a test.. Makes me suspicious of server issues, and nothing to do with the Fitbits..
