Not receiving email notifications

Hi all,

I recently upgraded to an Ionic. I previously had a Versa. Whilst the Versa was a bit flakey with notifications - generally I received most including email notifications.

Since up grading to the Ionic I have been unable to receive any email notifications. I receive call notifications and even notifications when a deposit hits my bank - although this can be a little hit and mis, as can mobile text messages and WhatsApp texts.

I've factory reset the Ionic, rebooted the phone and deleted the Ionic from the Fitbit app as well as uninstall/reinstall the app.

My phone is a Motorola G6 Plus running Android 9. My clock face is regularly updating weather from the phone, so the connection between the Ionic and phone seems quite stable.

IS there an issue with the latest Ionic firmware?

In the Fitbit app under notifications I have the Calls toggle switch on. Text messages - Messages, Calendar Events - Outlook, Emails - Outlook.

Under App Notifications I have all the desired apps ticked that I want notification from. Only 6 I have ticked.

Interestingly two are grayed out. Messages - Default text message app and Outlook - Default calendar app. Both of these are not ticked, and I cannot tick them - as they are grayed out. Is this because they are active by default? If yes, perhaps the box should also show a grayed tick.

Anything else I need to adjust, or can Fitbit confirm this is an issue their end?

Hi @PaulMe, welcome to the Community Forums!

I appreciate the details that were shared in your post. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Fitbit are correctly configured and to try some troubleshooting steps.

Keep me posted.

Hi Ricardo,

Thanks for your response. I've only recently acquired the Ionic. It was unused - so effectively is new as of less than a week ago. Emails aren't pushed to the Ionic as they were on the Versa I had before. My Android phone is the same.

I've triple checked the settings and email notification via the Fitbit app is enabled. I'm asking the community if there are any settings in the app or the phone I've missed?

I'm currently on FW 70.7.27. The new FW just released hasn't yet been detected by the app. Unfortunately there is no changelog documentation to say that the newer FW 70.80.0 will address my issue.

Any help appreciated.

😊😊
