Notifications not always working after update

It seems that since 3.0 I have to periodically (2 or 3 weeks?) restart my fitbit in order to get notifications working again.

I have my phone in silent mode since I got a fitbit, but I have already missed a few calls due to this annoying bug. Are you aware of this? Is this the right forum?

A warm welcome to the Community @paperinik! Thanks for the details that you've mentioned. Yes, this is the right forum and the correct board since you have a Fitbit Ionic. You can check the Getting Started post for more details on how to navigate through the Community.

I would like you to perform the following regarding your call notifications:

- Force quit the Fitbit app

- Reset Bluetooth

- Restart your Ionic

- Refresh notifications

- Set up notifications again

You can find the instructions on this article My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.

Not sure if this is a bug or intentional. Have you tried just putting your phone on vibrate?

When I meant silent I intended on vibrate.

I never change the phone status, but at one point notifications (call especially) stop working on my Fitbit.

Thank you for the suggestion, I am definitively trying this.

As a side note, this is getting more frequent as I just reset the watch this morning and notifications stopped after a few hours.

Nada. They keep turning off. I've done everything at this point, including a full factory reset. The only app installed is my own watch face, so this is as close to "just bought" conditions.

They only way to resume them is a watch reset which is really not ideal.

Please, I really depend on notifications to know when somebody is calling when I am oncall.

I just reset my watch yesterday morning. After more than 24h call notifications stopped arriving (and I missed a call, darn it)

Thanks @SilviaFitbit
It seems like the watch might be thinking that I am sleeping as they seem to be related to when I sit for a long time: it seems that if I start walking the notifications start working again without me having to reset the watch. I disabled/enabled the related option to no improvement.

I will wait for the support team to reach me. If there's something I can do I will be happy to assist. Again, for me this is the best fitbit feature so far and I got to depend on it.

Thank you @SilviaFitbit. Unfortunately my theory about walking to reactivate the notifications doesn't hold.
I am trying to disable app notifications selectively to see if one of them is causing the notification agent on the watch to crash.

Hi @SilviaFitbit

Yesterday I received an email from support saying that the newest version of the Fitbit app for iOS includes a fix for this bug. Unfortunately I discovered that that's not the case.

I am getting the impression that this bug, which talking with my friends is quite widespread (3 out 3 experienced the same issue, 2 of them on Android, 1 of them on iOS), is not getting the deserved attention. This bug is "basic functionality broken" class.

Can you please ping the team internally so they investigate this more carefully? As you can imagine, it's getting pretty annoying as it's not obvious when this stops working. I have been pretty supportive so far, I have uploaded a video of the bug, going through all troubleshooting steps, been pretty open to upload logs and more, but so far this has been an extremely frustrating experience.

Thanks!

I've got an Alta HR. Surprise surprise when notifications stop working, it affects both devices at the same time.

At the same time, I haven't been contacted yet by customer support. What's happening?
