Gorilla glass is not as strong as Fitbit makes it out to be. Do not make the mistake I did. This afternoon I barely hit my hand on my desk at work and was left with this huge scratch after owning my ionic for only 3 days.

I see that they have now removed "scratch proof" from the description on this forum. Funny that!!
Not sure when but shows the last edit as 10 mins or so ago.

Hopefully the last update. An exception is being made and I will receive a replacement. I need to return my scratched one for them, fair enough.
Faith in Fitbit restored.
Thanks for all the advice and support folks.

@Yaydelwan So glad they finally resolved it and are sending you a replacement! I had to send mine back first too - I am guessing the replacement process will take a few weeks but its better than being stuck with a scratched screen. I mailed mine back two days ago....Now I'm waiting for an email on the next "steps"

Contact Fitbit support. They will replace it for you. The squeaky wheel gets the grease right. I had my Blaze replaced when I scratched the screen by rubbing it against the plastic tail light on my vehicle by mistake and the dust scratched it all over. I contacted Fitbit support and they replaced the blaze without question and didn't want my old one back. They have great customer support. You just have to contact them

Like all you have said, I find the Ionic is cheaply made. The metal is all scratched and it's not even a month old. I ordered a silicone cover and a glass protector but wow! My Surge lasted forever and never scratched, just the band wore out.

Just found and purchased this combination Frame and Screen Protector all in one and so far it's pretty awesome. It totally covers the frame and screen and the touch sensitivity seems not to be impacted at all.
