Problem syncing ionic to wireless headphones

Hey team, I’m having problems pairing my ionic to my Bluetooth headphones. I bought a Skull Candy Method Wireless headset, to be fair mostly because of the price and they fit the sports brief. They paired easily and worked fine initially, then I had trouble charging the headphones and had to take them back for repair. I’ve just charged them again after a week of seamless use, and now my ionic won’t pair with them. I’ve tried deleting the device and starting again, it finds them, which makes me think the Bluetooth is working, but they won’t pair. The headphones pair to my iPhone and play, so is it an ionic issue?

After I posted this I noticed a couple of things - my Ionic hadn't synced in over 12 hours, and there was an update pending. It wouldn't sync without the update, and for some reason it wouldn't update either - kept telling me it couldn't access our WIFI. I ended up resetting it, then managed to complete the update, and then managed to re-pair with my headphones. It's been fine since.

I tried this method with JBL Endurance Peak and left ear goes off after 2 seconds.

Tried with Beats Studio 3 and it worked perfectly.
