Hi folks,
Anyone else have issues with notifications on their Ionic? I'm on a OnePlus 5 here.
I find that after a few hours, notifications stop piping through to the watch. Normal sync is fine, and I've excluded the Fitbit app from battery optimisation and enabled the permanent notification and constant connection.
The only way for me to restore notification is to shut down and restart the watch.
So frustrating!

Same problem here. So frustrating to not get any reminders of calendar events or text, or e-mail. Going to Best Buy to orrow to see if they can get it straightened out. If not i will return it

Okay super strange. I left the house outside the range of wifi, then everything started coming through. Everything all apps are working fine now.

Just spent an hour on the phone with Fitbit suppport and was unable to fix the problem. Reported it to technical for fix.

Looks like the notifications randomly stopped again. This is incredibly annoying and frustrating. Seems like it should be it simple. Calls work, nothing else.

Mine was the do not disturb issue. As soon as the phone was set to vibrate everything comes through okay.

That's great!
I had my phone set to "do not disturb" last week. During that time, I received a phone call notification on my Moto G4. I can't find a thread on this topic, so I think I'll have to start one.
Congrats to you!!

@SunsetRunner wrote:Yes, that's it. Once the connection has been lost, you have to reenable notifications in android settings again. That really is a pain in the azz.
There, fixed that for you 😉 We're all grownups here, you can tell us how you really feel lol.

Don't forget...
Turn off all day sync.
Turn off always connected.
Then reboot your phone and watch.
Notifications should come through without issue (tested on latest android)...well unless do not disturb is on

Did not work. Talked with Fitbit and they are aware of the issue and they are working it. It is a SW issue.

On latest android build there is a toggle switch in notifications which simply says override do not disturb..since I've enabled this all notifications have come through...I have the Oneplus 5 ..go to notifications...all apps fitbit..scroll down the page...setting is at the bottom...worked a treat..but I have also had a software update earlier today so that may be related....as an aside..I have now tried the Huawei Watch 2..sensors are useless...Garmin Vivoactive 3 ..battery life is appaling and screen is worse than useless...Apple Watch 2 ok but for the battery life, but not as good a tracker or sensors..Samsung gear S2..ok but again the tracker not that good..and poor battery life...so stick with this..when its right im sure it will be a winner..im giving mine a month

Absolutely .. I just wish android would do it for silent mode as well!

I only got my Ionic yesterday on an Android Pixel XL on latest software. Thanks for the DND tip - annoying to have the phone vibrate as well but at least it now works. Do you know if clearing the notification on the Ionic, clears them from the phone as well? Otherwise a bit useless doing it twice. I just replaced my Gear S3 Classic (still have it while i evaluate the Ionic) but it seems to me the S3 was better in notifications - but Samsung Health was horrible. I preferred the Ionic for now due to the promise of apnea tracking though i cant see how they will be implementing this but i am watching this space. Thanks all
Notifications only clear on the watch itself if I clear them on the watch. I quite like that behaviour. I guess it would be nice to have the option though to have it clear on the phone/watch as well in sync (just as an option).. not sure android would allow it.

Try swiping to the left once from the main watch screen and make sure your notifications settings is set to "Receive from phone". If not, click it once to set it. Once I did this, I was able to receive notifications again.

Android will definitively allow sync notification - its on Fitbit to implement i think

I’ve noticed push notifications stop but then if your phone battery runs out and you recharge and turn phone on you get them all plus ones you’ve already had and cleared, very annoying ☹️
