Finally solved this by unpairing the Ionic from the app (Remove this device), resetting the Fitbit, then add the device back into the app and changing the PIN.
Best AnswerI’ve tried all these solutions and still locked out - super frustrated. Think I m going to take watch back. Too hard

Best AnswerI am absolutely sick fed up with the fickleness of this watch. Fitbit must get this sorted or it will be their downfall. No other device I have ever owned has created so much unnecessary hassle and annoyance.
The watch is brilliant when it works but why on earth does it suddenly require to be unlocked by the phone when I have done nothing to require it? Then it will not recognise my PIN on the phone which I know for a fact is correct because I use the same on other devices. It does not give me a reset option in the app. I have tried the various steps above in increasing order of disruption and now I have gone to the extent of removing the device, removing the app, reinstalling the app, resetting the phone only to get to the point where the watch will not connect to the device it has been connected to since October.
This device has been issued in a poorly developed state and it is the first fitbit device I have owned that I cannot recommend to friends.
Very frustrated and annoyed with Fitbit for making a device that should enhance your life which instead adds stress and annoyance.
Fitbit please get things sorted. I hate Apple, but I am on the point of conversion simply due to the failure of the Ionic.
Very disappointed with something that has the potential to be brilliant.
Eliminating the Touch ID on my phone worked for me too (iPhone7 plus IOS 11.2.5). I think the latest Apple IOS moved the Touch ID/Passcode stuff to its own category under 'Settings' instead of under 'Privacy'. It's probably more an Apple issue than Fitbit in this case.
Best AnswerThanks DaveR2018 for your reply.
I don't use Apple so it wasn't an Apple issue.
I did finally resolve it. To do I went to the Dashboard on my laptop, disabled the FitBit Pay there and then re-established everything on a fresh setup. Everything is now working as it did previously.
This worked thanks
Best AnswerSame issue. Nothing has worked and tried all those things as well.
Best AnswerThis is the only thing that worked. Thanks! I also deactivated the PIN.
Best AnswerHey, I tried those steps but my Versa still does not want to unlock. It keeps saying change pin failed. I have reinstalled the app, turned bluetooth on and off yet nothing seems to fix it.
Best AnswerI am getting authentication failed when I try to change the password
Best Answerafter entering too many pins the watch locked and required the resetting by the phone I followed your procedure but ir failed to restore the watch it reported a communication error
Yes, thanks Magrew! Using the dashboard on my laptop to deactivate FitBit Pay was what was required. Soft reset to regain access to watch (left and bottom right button), restarted the app on my phone, finally was able to update the passcode and then set up the wallet again. Much harder than what it needed to be...
Best AnswerUnlock from phone. Tried all the suggestions. After deleting and reinstalling the App, still get the message 'Change password failed. Even tho the WiFi connected on installation, still got the error message. In desperation I went into WiFi setting on the App. I had to reconnect with WiFi again, and guess what? I was now able to change the password and unlock the watch.
Hope this helps others.
Best AnswerAs I stated in my post, after you have reinstalled the app and paired with the tracker, go into wifi settings in the app and reconnect to your wifi. Should then be able to reset the password.
Best AnswerI have tried to use the app to unlock my fitbit pin but it says that the pin entry is already in progress and will not let me reset the pin.
