In general Fitbit pay works great. I have been using it now in many countries, at many stations for several months.
But ... when the NFC reader lays really flat on a table it is difficult. The ionic screen goes off when turning it to the NFC reader. To solve that I have to lift the reader in a more vertical position and then everything is ok. It seems that turning my wrist 90degrees makes the screen switch off.
It would be helpful if Ionic in "pay mode" would not turn off the screen when being moved (towards the NFC reader).
2018-12-02CET16:47: I just did a factory reset and now there is no screen off when in "paymode"

@HenningKL I suggest adding your fix as a response to your post, this way you can mark your response as a solution. This will help others who may be having the same issues.
Alternatively but not as good would be to edit the subject line with the word solved
