Sleep Score - An unwanted and HORRIBLE “improvement”

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Adding this highly subjective “feature,” and forbidding is from turning it off is awful. We already have an ability to compare our sleep with the average of others in our age range.  That is OPTIONAL.

Forcing us us to start our day with someone’s SUBJECTIVE assessment?  Seriously?

If the big brother at Fit Bit wants to continue to access my data when ( given the built in obsolescence) my current watch dies, they will give us the option to turn off this highly judgmental feature.

@Old_Athlete - The sleep score is not, “someone’s SUBJECTIVE assessment.” If that is your concern, you can read more about how it is objectively calculated here

Thank you for your reply, Carol B.  You raise a fair point that it the sleep score is based on some type of behind the scenes analysis.  I'll accept for the moment it objective.  I poorly articulated what I don't like, so I'll rephrase.

My main complaint is, not unlike a handful of other complaints I read when I realized we cannot "toggle off" this feature, that we should not be forced to see our sleep score.  Give us the option to turn it off, or bury it in a screen that NOT the default when I simply want to see how many hours my FitBit said I was asleep last night.

Unlike others, I don't "stress" about how much/little I sleep.  I've monitored that for years and know the number of hours of sleep that works for me.  To wake up feeling refreshed and knowing I got 15-30 minutes more of sleep than my typical night, then see my sleep graded as "fair" [or, on occasion, worse] is (frankly) a crappy way to start my day.  That FitBit ties this "improvement" to a transparent attempt to get you to pay more money for insights only doubles the slight.

Again, give us the option to toggle it off.  Those who like it can cheer.  Those of us who don't find it necessary or helpful need not have it smashed in our face when we access a part of the application we value.

I appreciate your response, @Old_Athlete . We are all entitled to our own opinion. As you say, quite a few others want an option to opt of of the sleep score. You can add your voice to theirs by voting for this feature suggestion. This is where Fitbit gages interest in a request.
