Hi my sleep tracking has just switch to awake/restless/asleep from the deep/light/rem/awake and I don't understand why?

How can I switch back to deep/light/rem/awake?

I am not sure, but i read that this can happen if the heartrate cannot be read correctly.

At least the watches that don't have heartrate monitoring show the info like that.

Maybe the watchband was to loose, you were laying on your arm, the watch turned around to much etc.

@elot @Uruzu5 I hope you're doing well! There are some reasons as to why sleep stages are not showing on your sleep log:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed).
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

I also recommend checking this helpful article about Sleep Stages

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

I have the same problem with my new Iconic. My Blaze rarely gave me this problem. I wear both on the same wrist in the same area.

@divadr175 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Are you wearing your Ionic too loose or too tight? Make sure you are wearing the watch in a way it will be tracking your heart rate properly.

I would also try wearing only the Ionic when sleeping to check if that will work. Having both Fitbit devices tracking sleep at the same time may cause some confusion within the two.

Alternatively, please perform a restart on your Ionic. That could help you as well!

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy
