Never before has a technological advance represented such a backwards step.
had I not given my son my Blaze I would have sent the Ionic back some time ago.
I have had it for about a month and it still will not sync when it feels like it and now I cannot get any notifications etc. I need to know what the warranty is on this awful product.
for £300 I could have bought something much better performing

I'm sorry for your dismay. I would like to know if you have done a factory reset? Another thing worth mentioning is the one year limited warranty. I would recommend talking to Fitbit support first though.
Thanks for visiting!

First thingt @RAWWASPS a factory reset should be done as a last step.
As for warranty, the link is at the bottom of every page.
Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
You say that the ionic will not send notifacation, this is true, the phone sends and the ionic receives .

Try these troubleshooting steps if your device is not syncing.

The problem is that the connection keeps dropping off. I have to keep deleting the ionic and re adding it.
It's doesn't sync properly half of the time either

Do you only have the ionic attached to your Fitbit account?
I'm still not sure which phone your problem is with, or if you normally sync through more than one device?

If the Samsung phone is still around and turned on. The tracker will be needed to be removed from the Samsung's Bluetooth.
As for the huawei this probably is the worst choice of phone, with many complaints and I don't see many models in the list .Between me and my neighbor. .We have not had anything more than short hiccups with just about every Samsung model on the market .
Has the Blaze been removed from your phone? I assume it was removed from the account .

The samsung was factory reset so not the issue. Re the huawei I had the same issues with the Samsung from the outset as I said.
