The big drawback for Ionic is the syncing issue. The Sync Now button keeps running but nothing syncs. I have to remove and reinstall the Ionic several times. So tires of it.

@Roselife, it is not advisable to remove and reinstall the Ionic to get it to sync - you may encounter a problem where you cannot reinstall it, and that is very frustrating. Instead, try opening the phone's Bluetooth settings. select the Fitbit device, tell Bluetooth to forget the device, close the phone's settings, re-open the Fitbit app and try syncing the tracker again. See if that allows it to sync.

@Roselife I’ve done everything to fix the sync issue with no help. Now I just deal with the random 1x a day sync (maybe) and move on. It’s fun now to just sit on the Bluetooth screen on my phone and watch the Ionic toggle between connected and not connected. 🙄
So hopefully you find a fix for yours!

@Rydial, if you are using the phone's Bluetooth settings to monitor the Fitbit tracker connection, you are in the wrong place. The Fitbit tracker requires the Fitbit app to control its Bluetooth connection, and not the phone's settings. That is why using the phone's Bluetooth settings only to Forget the Device allows the Fitbit app to re-connect the tracker.

@Roselife I had similar non-syncing issues when my Ionic was on an older version Fitbit iOS, and also while using an older iPhone 6s. Updates to both have seemed to do away with the problem, and I have stopped trying to sync with the dongle or the cord to my laptop. Using bluetooth with an iPhone 7 have shown no problems.

@USAF-Larry I also see it in the app. It toggles between sync now, looking, syncing..... repeat on the ionic page. And the same thing if you do a pull down from the home screen on the app.

@Roselife and others, @USAF-Larry's advice is very good, but the very first, and easiest troubleshooting step for syncing problems is always a restart of your Fitbit and I would definitely recommend that.
Usually there is no need for anything more elaborate,
Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android

@Julia_G I wish the reset worked for me but it didn’t. And if I could do the reset once it would be fine, but if I had to do that as the norm it would be just as aggravating as not syncing automatically.
