Syncing Pandora to Ionic

Has anyone been successful in syncing Pandora to their FitBit? I am paying $9.99/month for Pandora, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my watch, setup the WiFi at work and home and I can't seem to get any stations on my watch.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

With the most recent software update on the Ionic I was able to get Pandora up and running on my watch. If you have a notification in your fitbit app I would take a look and update if that's possible. I'm glad mine is working, but completely understand that the whole process for downloading music and getting to work properly is not very intuitive. Wish I could be more helpful and I hope you're able to get it to work!

I gave up on Pandora. Cancelled my membership and will go back to ITunes Radio.  I kept the Ionic as I like the other features but will be very wary of purchasing another product from Fitbit promoting any similar features. I dont want a smart watch, but a fitness watch that doesn’t require me to have my phone at the gym was a selling point for me.  A complete failure by Fitbit on this feature.

Well, that encouraging! If you only knew how many times I updated, restarted, factory reset and much, much more I did, along with everything the Fitbit Support department had me try, you would understand my frustration. I wish it was that simple 🙂

Enjoy the watch for what it is. You can swim with and it has a better display than before. But streaming music app was appealing. They clearly didn’t get it out of demo phase. I have really liked Fitbit over the years for being more of a fitness focus watch. Liked the ability to have different watch faces but most people you bought it were hoping for a streaming music service that worked. I am pretty sure most of us have spent far too long trying to sync or re-sync pandora before, during or at the gym.  You go to the gym to work out,  if I have to look down at my Ionic to hope the station synced, I would rather just download my own music on phone.

I ended up returning the watch. Too expensive to not have it do what I wanted.  Back to my Charge 2 and music on my phone . Hope they get it right in the future.  😞

Has ANYONE been able to download Pandora stations, either selected or autoselected? All I'm getting is the update spinner

No:(
Infinite loop of either “downloading” and then not actually downloading. Or getting a message that something is wrong with my subscription and to make changes in FitBit app (there’s no way to address that in app). My Pandora subscription is fine in the Pandora app.

Exactly what I have gotten.  I sent mind back yesterday.  Wasted too much time with support and in my own trying to download.  So frustrating.

No, what I was told by Fitbit customer service is that they are aware of the problem and that Fitbit engineers are trying to find a solution to this issue, but at this time, there is not one. They could give me no time frame at all as to when a solution could be expected. They allowed me to return my watch for replacement in the slim chance another watch won’t have the same problem...I’m not holding my breath!

Keatrob: sorry I don't believe your claim that you were able to download Pandora music to your Ionic. Prove me wrong!

I just listened to Pandora on my Ionic for my one-hour run outdoors.  Was wonderful.  My "yacht rock" station mellowed me out so my pace was as slow as I wanted it to be.  I loved it.  So happy I have Pandora on my Ionic.

In all seriousness I am a dufus when it comes to tech- and I was able to implement it.  It took about 2 hours during a sync, but the watch needed a charge anyways.  It was not hard.  Just follow the manual.

That’s great to know! Unfortunately, that has not been the case for many Ionic user. Has nothing to do with the manual.  I had to send mine back for a replacement. Once it arrives, I’m hopefully I’ll have the same experience but definitely not holding my breath!

Maybe your Ionic was a dud- hope a new one does better.  I was so excited to be able to figure it out, and it super-cool.  This is going to take my running training enjoyment sky high,  Best of luck!

Does anyone on this thread have experience in communicating with FITBIT
support on this issue? If so, what is the best way to contact them and what
was your experience.

I spent 5+ hours on the phone with them two weeks ago and was unable to find a solution. We troubleshot EVERY POSSIBLE method they had available. The Fitbit team finally admitted that there is a

problem with syncing Pandora to the Ionic and that “Fitbit engineers are aware of it and working to come up with a solution”. They could provide no time frame for said solution but thought it would be in the form of an update to the watch.

They told me to return my watch in the slim chance a replacement would work. I am currently waiting on the replacement.

You're one of the few that has been able to use this feature then.  I actually called support and had them walk me through how to do it after not being successful on my own.  They could not help me either.  They said there is a flaw, and for some it won't work.   So not a matter of not following or following the manual.  Glad yours worked.  I sent mine back.  I figured I would never run without my phone anyways, so wasn't worth the frustration or the money.  Saved myself $300.

So I definitely think there is a glitch in the system. Initially, every time I opened up the Pandora app in my Fitbit app I would get the spinning wheel of death - for eternity. I would wait, I would try to connect to wifi, but nothing would unfreeze the Fitbit-Pandora integration on my iPhone. I spent over 8 hours on the phone and chatting with Fitbit support to troubleshoot and they said that it was an issue on Pandora's side and that their developers we're working to figure it out (with what urgency - who knows).

I got this app to work initially and listened to it for about 2 days, then my stations were just gone.  I went to download them again and all I got was communication error. Every other app works, everything syncs, and all my notifications come through. My stations are even listed in the fitbit app. so disappointing. I don't dare tell the family how my mothers day gift is working.  Too much saved money on this
