Treadmill distance way off

Is there anyway to adjust the distance on the Fitbit app after you are done running on the treadmill? Other watches allow you to adjust your distance since none of really accurate on the treadmill. I ran 3 miles and my watch said 2.6. Making my average speed way off as well. Any fixes for this?

Your steps will never be accurate on a treadmill. Your stride is different for one. Holding on to the bars will not count accurately either. Also you not covering an exact distance because you are not moving forward.

I understand that. My question was am I able to manually adjust my distance on the Fitbit app. I am fine with the watch being off by a little, but other running watches allow you to adjust the distance when you are finished. That is what I am wondering.

Yes. In the app, at the top, tap the bluish icon that looks like a business card (to the far right of the picture of the Ionic). Slide down to Advanced Settings. Then down to Stride Length. and de-select "Set automatically." Enter whatever value you need.

@CVM, once the activity is finished, and appears in your Activity Log, you cannot edit the distance or number of steps.  You can delete the exercise, and manually enter on with the correct information, but you cannot edit a recorded one.

Fitbit needs to change this feature so that you can adjust your distance after a treadmill run.  Doesn't seem to be that difficult to add that function to the app.

Sounds like something for Feature Suggestions Board.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Again, I understand this. Fitbit needs to allow the app to adjust your
distance after you are done! Should be pretty simple.

that would require work.. think its the too hard basket for some.

Might I suggest to put it as a Potential "Feature Request"  but don't hold your breath...

I did the math because my mile distance was way off. My steps were close to what I would expect, and after the math I figured out that my Fitbit uses my walking stride length on the treadmill regardless of it I’m running or walking, causing this disparity.
