Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.
If you have an impacted Fitbit Ionic device, please stop using it and visit our webpage where you’ll find:

Hello,
I am also in the same soup. I got a mail from Paypal mentioning the refund amount however due to incomplete Paypal account, they couldn't transfer the amount. After completing the Paypal registration, i couldn't find any transaction number in Paypal and tried contacting Customer Support of Paypal. As per Paypal, probably the money got credited back to Fitbit since it was unclaimed the same day. Now i really don't know how to get fitbit initiate the refund once again. I tried contacting fitbit over different channels and so far no luck. Looking forward to someone else's guidance on this.

I have read this too. I don't think everyone is reading the terms and conditions. It keeps saying charges are in the summary box and there is no summary box. Do we have to pay to cancel the card when we are finished with it - otherwise they will charge the dormant fee. I don't think we can transfer the funds to a bank account from it either

I too received the email about refund to Paypal account. However, Paypal didnt process the refund due to user account issue( KYC was not complete it seems for my account which i was not aware). Paypal is now requesting me to contact Fitbit to reinitiate the refund. And i am unable to contact fitbit for this. Fingers crossed that another attempt is made automatically. All the Fitbit Customer care numbers are just redirecting to some other numbers without offering any resolution.

That is exactly what i am thinking about. Now i want to change payback method to paypal, which I have to create, but I think it is more safe for in case of this situation about inactivity fees on the mastercard virtual account. But I do not know how to do that.

Yes I'm in the same situation...mine was suppose to be delivered on 03/12/22 also and yet no additional scans or anything from Fitbit or Sedgewick. After reading previous comments I have kept my fingers crossed that it was just mixed up in the shuffle and I know that they are overwhelmed at the moment. But after seeing the comments from the past couple of days on here from people receiving emails confirming the return and some in the US have received their actual PayPal refunds and also have stated that it was confirmed delivered after 03/12 from UPS tracking...I'm starting to believe I may have an issue. I did a Fitbit support chat this morning and was literally only told that I would get an email in several days so fingers crossed again.

I have contacted the card company. They will charge the card if it's not used after 3 months (left inactive). They won't charge to close the card and the balance has to be used before the expiry or it will be returned to Fitbit. I have now activated mine. You are given a virtual card that gives you a long card number like a normal bank card and it gives you an expiry and the 3 digit number (CVT number is it called?). So you can use the virtual card as you would a normal bank card for payments.
As soon as you accept the card terms it takes you straight to your virtual card with the balance ready to use
I hope this helps

I’ve had the same. It looks like a scam to me but there’s another thread suggesting it might not be? If it’s genuine the it’s very poor from from fitbit given how many scams there are

So I can cancel the card after I will use the money, or it is done automatically?

Hi, yes the number from within the email and paste that in where the link takes you. You will be asked to set up a username and password then you will be taken through to accept the terms and conditions
I would personally call to cancel as soon as you have used the balance as if it's left not used they will charge you the domancy fee. I wouldn't leave anything to chance
They give you a virtual card. I took a screen shot of it saves keep logging in to get the card info

Thank you for your help, but I do not understand.
Here are my questions:
Can I use the money for making purchase from different store than Fitbit.com?
Can I cancel the card after I use the money?
When they charge the fee?

Yes any shop online
Yes u can cancel when has been used.
If u don't use the card in certain time not sure how long, it tells u everything when u get ur card
