Fitbit, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Fitbit Ionic smartwatches, which the company introduced in 2017 and stopped producing in 2020. The battery in the Ionic smartwatch can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The health and safety of Fitbit users is our highest priority. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution for our users. We will offer a refund to Fitbit Ionic customers.
This voluntary recall is specific to Fitbit Ionic devices. It does not impact any other Fitbit smartwatches or trackers.

I'm in the UK and getting 'Reference Code not found' on the 'verify your account to get refund page' after 24 hours. Support just told me to try in another 24 hours! I've been a Fitbit user for years but It's putting me off getting another Fitbit!

I am in Ireland and it also says I have no reference code. I am on the device disable page and it says wait 90 minutes but it has been 3 days! What is going on?

@ YojanaFitbit. I understand your effort in letting us know that there are fitbit users who are getting refund and are happy. However most of the users are still waiting without any clue on the status and if at all refund will finally be processed. As you mentioned, if there is an email address through which we can raise a service request to get the status of the refund, please let us know in this forum. Currently we only have UK call Center number, which is expensive to call for people from countries like India and even if we contact with them there is absolutely no assistance from them. >From Really frustrated Fitbit customer. Do something. Even your Twitter handle / Instagram has stopped responding to any sort of questions--Thanks and Regards VV

I understand that his process went through. However, I cannot even get it started, as it keeps saying I do not have a reference code when I have one created already! I have an email from you giving me my reference code, and its telling me to desync my ionic to get it started. However my reference code keeps saying not found!

I got a refund email asking me to register with B4B payments. (I was never given the PayPal option). The registration process meant providing personal details including name, date of birth, email, phone number to a company other than Fitbit. I am a customer with Fitbit, not with B4B and I would like to keep it that way.
Then B4B state in their terms that they are free to pass on my personal details to third parties as they see fit. There is no way of refusing this without also refusing the money.
There is no way of redeeming the money into my own account. Instead I have to spend it online through B4B. If I don't do so within 30 days they will charge a "dormant fee". The whole card needs to be spent wihin a year.
When I ask Fitbit support about this they refer me to a number in London, which means an expensive international call for people in The Netherlands. Of course they put me in a queue which I broke off after 5 minutes to prevent a hefty telephone bill.
In my opinion the terms of the recall (refund, 40% off) have been very generous. The process however has been very tedious so far and do not instill confidence.

You can create a PayPal account, add the B4B credit card to it, send it to another (a second paypal account) and send it back. Then you can withdraw it to your bank account.

Is there anyone who got paid for the ionic, I'm on the ninth week already all what I hear when I call is we will escalate the matter, I think at the end if I get the money it will only cover the telephone costs 🤔

The middle one in your picture is clearly an ionic, but does not have FB503 on it. Are you saying that one does not get refunded?
