Yes it is waterproof and designed for swimming. Further comfort can be taken from the fact that if it isn’t, you can exchange it under warranty, subject, always, to certain conditions 🙂

Yes it is, in up to over 100 feet of water...something tells me you won't be swimming in 100 feet of water! Just make sure that you dry it out really well after your swim.

Personally, I've drowned 2 so far!
That's comforting lol
Waterproof?? Not my Ionic. Had it for about 2 months. I have been swimming with it and it worked fine. Just the past couple days I went swimming and then my watch went haywire!! I looked at the sensors and they had water in them. Trying to dry it out, but I really think that it’s shot. I was nice while it lasted.
Do a quick google search and you'll find dozens of Ionic owners who've had theirs broken in water. Mine did immediately after normal lap swimming. I have loved my Fitbit products but I think the Ionic was a little rushed and was overpromised.
My 15 month old Ionic has also suffered a tragic death by being submerged in water. Although mine was a bathtub...depth, 1 ft. Fitbit's resolution was a 40% discount on a new Ionic that has no guarantee of dying in 15 months either as that seems to be the planned death for Ionic's, as mentioned numerous times here on the forums. Disappointing.
The Fitbit Ionic adidas edition is waterproof. I am sure it is because I have worn it for 4 hours in the pool and it has not broke. Just make sure you wipe the water off it when you get out of the pool. {This only applies if you have an in ground pool} And make sure you use the entrance to your pool because if you climb up not using an entrance you have a big chance of scraping your Fitbit Ionic adidas edition because your pool has a certain kind of texture on the patio that can scrape many things including your Fitbit. I know this is possible because it has happened to me 4 times!
It even as a swim mode that proves it.
No it's not Waterproof. I swam with the watch on for the first time yesterday and it died on me. Support was no help. It's out of warranty so they won't replace it. So basically they can lie to you and sell you a costly watch and call it water resistant and safe in swimming pool, and when you contact support they talk about policy and not under warranty. Seems like their policy is not to stand behind their product.
