I am confused on the show cues. There are 3 modes:

Best AnswerThe manual cues can be used very similar to a lap counter. I was going nuts trying to figure out how to do a lap run and playing around I set the cues to manual and when running hit the upper right button and what do you know, it set that period as a lap.
I use this to referee soccer so the periods may not be a set time, since we can add time so an automated cue for say 45 minutes would not work so I use the run feature with manual cues and mark off the half. When I am an AR, I do not need to waste the battery on GPS so I use workout with the cues for each half.
Of course if you are running a race and want mile splits, you would use the automated feature for miles.
I am not sure how much of that is sarcasm, but I actually thought that might kind of be the answer. However, I tried using that mode on my run last night and it seemed like absolutely nothing happened.

I think manual means that no laps will occurs until you press the top right button, this will create a lap from your first part of your run. Then you can press it again at any time and it will lap again. The lap data is exported into Fitbit app and Strava. So, for example, if you are doing repetitions or intervals you can lap each one and the in between rest and then see how fast you did each one later on your phone app. The big issue I have with this is that when you press the lap button it is essential to have the lap time & pace displayed, so that in real time you know how you did on that rep. Unfortunately Fitbit doesn't do this and I so wish they did - essential for serious runners!
Wow! I feel like an idiot! I loved that feature on my surge, and was sad when it seemed like the ionic got rid of it.
I’ll have to try it my next lap run.
Best AnswerHi there,
I agree that Fitbit definitely should display each Split time in the app (not only pace and distance). This is essential for any serious track / interval running exercise!

So what exactly are cues? What do they do? Why does fitbit not post a manual to axplain how their gadgets are supposed to function? What step by step ( do not miss one step at all) button pressing screen tapping screen swiping doubleclicking procedures are required to ..select an exercise, enter the exercise, start the exercise, finish the exercise, exit the exercise, and select the next exercise and why did fitbit increase the number of steps in the so called improved Charge 3?
