Has there been any update when the spo2 sensor will be available for use. It was the only reason I chose this watch over the others I was looking to buy.

Any danger we'll get an update as to when this functionality is going to be made available? Why are fitbit hiding from their customers on this one?

It is now late June 2019 and I'm still waiting for sleep monitoring that actually works, that doesn't miss anywhere from a little to most of my sleep time with no explanation, and oh yes, the data from the SPO2 sensor. That's why I picked Versa, and I'm extremely disappointed that most of what I bought it for turned out to be vaporware. You can't see your pulse data so you have no clue why it says you're awake when you are sleeping. And you still don't have the data to see how your apnea is doing.

1 months after your post, and still nothing on the alleged SPO2 sensor.

Nothing to date regarding the SpO2, who know what the new app may bring. But as they say in the behavioral sciences “yesterday is the best predictor of tomorrow”!

Thanks to the moderator, hopefully my post isn't taken the wrong way. I understand your doing what you can to help people in these forums. I feel this belongs in the Ionic forum not lumped together with other devices in a separate forum. I'm not interested in devices other than the Ionic. I have no interest in voting for a non functioning SPO2 sensor.
My decision for purchasing an Ionic was for the advertised SPO2 sensor. I have sleep apnea, it seemed like a great way to monitor oxygen levels while sleeping. For my use the SPO2 sensor doesn't need to be very accurate. Being able to show a sleep doctor a pattern of SP02 levels dropping during sleep could be a very useful tool for people with Sleep Apnea in need of supplemental oxygen. A working SPO2 sensor could also help diagnose people with untreated Sleep Apea.
Management needs more transparency regarding the SPO2 issue. The non working SPO2 sensor is an issue, especially for people like me who purchased an Ionic for the advertised SPO2 sensor.
The Ionic released in Oct 2017, yet no useful updates or news regarding a fully functional, working SPO2 sensor.
Please lets keep the Ionic SP02 sensor issues or news in the Ionic forum.

Just click on the thumbs up icon on the link that @YojanaFitbit posted. Right now it's at 1455 thumbs up votes with a status of under consideration.
@GTOJim, I understand your point. However, having separate spo2 threads for different models only makes it look like the suggestion is less popular than it really is. We had that problem with votes for Spotify, where the full extent of the interest in the feature wasn't know until all the votes across all the models were counted together. It's really in our best interest to keep things more visible by combing the votes. At least that's how I see it.

I just went to the combined SPO2 forum to see what was being voted on. As I feared the SP02 feature is under consideration. Translation it's not going to happen. I think it would be a fair assumption that a fairly small percentage of Ionic owners come to these forums, mainly because of issues, looking for help. We don't see a lot of posts from people singing praise about the Ionic.
Regarding the voting, less than 1,500 votes since Nov 2017. Probably 1% or less of Ionic owners voted. You can see where this is going.
The only reason I purchased the Ionic was for the advertised SP02 sensor. I want what I paid for as advertised.
pbug56 I agree with you about heart rate monitoring being important. I'm not having any issues with gaps. I'm not using the band that came with my Ionic, don't know if it makes a difference.

I wish we could have a forthright response from Fitbit, to facilitate moving on to another product.
I bought the Ionic for the advertised SpO2 sensor!

Nice catch. I'll see if I can get it merged together for the extra votes.
