Hey,
I am curious How many users have an Ionic that has been functioning more than 8 months?
I bought one IONIC upon release. I don't like running with a phone but love my maps. It died 8 months into use. Fitbit replaced it. My replacement is now dead. Replacements don't come with warranties, so I need to either buy a new Ionic or get something else. So I'm trying to see if it is worth trying again. 3rd watch will be a charm? My husband's blaze is going on 4 years with no sync issues. Ionic has always had sync issues.. But sadly the Blaze has no GPS for maps.

@LokeMT Yes, I am serious. I can't find any other better alternative than Versa 2. It looks like a very well rounded smartwatch with fitness and health in focus. It's a pity Ionic didn't last long, but so far other Fitbit products are all working fine for me.

You may want to look at Polar & Garmin. I am jumping ship in the light of Fitbit's reply.
Ionic (Emphasis: Fitbit's TOP TIER PRODUCT) seemed to have so many flaws & issues and there is no guarantee it will not happen to Versa given Fitbit's "empathy coated solution-less" reply. See my post.
Cheers!

@LokeMT Thanks for your sharing. I am open minded. But so far I don't have the issues you mentioned and Versa 2 looks very promising indeed.

I had my Ionic for 19 months and I loved it. It worked flawlessly till the day it stopped accepting a charge and eventually died. Considering the $270 dollars (plus bands and optional charges) I spent, its disappointing how long it lasted. $270/19 months = $14.21 per month. That is expensive. Doing research to see what my next fitness tracker will be.

@Lucky007 You are already lucky your Ionic last longer than mine. It's rather expensive and short lived indeed. Also, it's interesting that if we also subscribe Fitbit Premium on top of it, the cost could go up even more.

I have had a Fitbit in some form since 2014. Have been happy with them up until now. Spent the extra money to get a ionic thinking it would be superior to other types. Within 12 months the battery has gone and only last 6-7 hours. I too am spending the extra $$ and buying a Garmin.

Likewise, from Surge to Blaze to Ionic..... now happily using Polar.
IMO,
Surge - Bad (Did 2 exchanges during 12 months) and watch died after 13mth
Blaze - Decent no issues and pass on to my wife less than 12 months due to Ionic
Ionic - Crap! See forum or my posts. Not built to last more than 2 years. Beware of Kill Code 66 called firmware upgrade....
With Polar (Ignite) for 1 month and cannot be happier. Sports tracking is excellent.

My Ionic is a little over 1.5 years old. Worn all day every day. Exercise 6 days a week. Battery life is a tad reduced, but I use GPS 3-5 miles every day so I recharge every 3 days. I got a good deal on a spare that’s still in the box other than occasional charge to preserve the battery. Just did the dreaded firmware update and it’s still alive and kicking.

Lol I thought it was just me! Literally less than a year into the Ionic I had issues. It got replaced. A few months later the face popped up and dangled! It got replaced, in July. By last February, the same thing happened! I’m really over the Fitbit brand at this point! I do NOTHING to cause the face to pop up! I literally got each of them wet ONE time when I would mistakenly wear them in the SHOWER!!! Mind you it’s waterproof so that shouldn’t be a big deal! Yeah no good! They only tell you you’re out of warranty and they can give a discount! I think I’m beyond done with the supposed nice one lol

I had two ionic, I have used mine for surfing, snorkeling, play volleyball and I walk. I have notice that with hot water it will die. I actually place the ionic when it died an wouldn't charge in the freezer.. Then charged it up... I don't know what I did but it work... Yeah the features are awesome.. I like keeping my sleeping track.. I had to use it for work to keep my insurance rate low... So I would suggested, to restart your fit bit.. Place in freezer & it might come alive... Mine two have gone with hot water encounters.. Also I paid the $300+ price in 2017.... And I don't like throwing away money..

Yes, both mine did the same thing... This last one I placed it in the freezer, charged it up.. I think even placed the charger in the center for a second... It came alive..

Bought Ionic 8/3/19. It bricked 10/25/19, replaced 11/9/19. Charged 100% yesterday at 3 PM. 0% charge today at 10 AM. Recharged 100% and waiting to see what happens next.

I also have similar issue, first iconic lasted 9 months n one day nothing, wouldn't turn on, rebel sport replaced it n the replacement has done exactly the same thing last week, but this this time it lasted just past 12 months and rebel sport won't replace it bcos they only give 12month warranty. What a waste of 449.00 to start with for a watch to last 12months. Time to try Garmin
