gps tracking and heart rate

I thought I'd try the GPS feature on my new ionic while driving to see accuracy on the map. I started a bike excersise and at the end viewed  the map which was spot on,  however the heart rate measured was not the expected 70 to 100 bpm sat in a car but between 100 and 172 bpm throughout the journey ,  obviously made up figures by ionic/fitbit software???  The point of the ionic is to accurately measure heart rate during exercise...

@Bozy Welcome to the Fitbit family! Usually, when your heart rate is not accurate is because of the placement of the watch on your wrist. Please take a look at this post to check the correct placement for high intensity activities. Basically, your watch needs to be far up your wrist (from 2 to 3 fingers from your wrist bone). Also, it doesn't need to be too tight as that will interfere blood flow and therefore the signal.

Also, check this article about hear rate for more details. It is very useful!

Another thing that is very important is that your tracker needs to be paired to your account. Did you set it up already? If you haven't, please check these steps to get that done!

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Pretty accurate over my 11.5 mile run when compared to a chest strap monitoring at the same time. A bit of a time delay, but that's to be expected since one is right over the heart, and the other down the wrist.

Placement does play a major role, especially when using the exercise modes. While this might seem to be a glitch or bug just wearing the thing as prescribed in the users manual, and by @SantiR, is the solution.

I was sat in the car and the watch in the same position as always, at rest
it normally measures approximately 62 BMP . During driving I expect maybe
a little higher, the watch hardly moving as the car is an automatic..
measurements of 100 to 170 is so wrong.. taking the watch back for a refund
asap..back to my old Garmin
