how do i add friends

i have a fitbit ionic and i cannot seem to add friends or request friends

@slickchild   Can you please clarify something?  Can you describe what you have done to add or look for friends?  Have you sent out friend requests?

Have you tried this?

• Tap on the Community Tab on your mobile dashboard
• Set the toggle to Friends
• Tap on the + Add Friends
• You can connect your Contact list, search your Facebook friends, etc

This will help you find people you know who are Fitbit users.

First thought I have is that adding friends has nothing to do with the ionic, but may be done on the web or the app. 

Adding a friend is really only requesting a friend for permission to add them. 

The friend will not be added until they accept. 

The request may be sent several ways

• From their profile on the web, use the webs share function to send the pages address. 
• Choose the email option and type in their email. 
• Letting the Fitbit app access to your contacts. And the app will then send a link to your info. This is the steps @LZeeW explains 
• You may also go to your friends profile and press add friend from their profile page. 

As @WendyB asks, it would be helpful to know which steps are being taken to add a friend and at what step does the process fail..
