watch completely died and now can't contact support. Why are the phone lines down?
Tried pressing all the buttons etc to no avail

Sounds like it needs to be charged. I would put it on the charger if you haven't done so already, for at least 2 hours to get a good charge. If that doesn't help, I would email Support (you can find the info for that in the same place you found the phone number for Fitbit) them and ask for a Battery Test.
