Totally fed up of inconsistent sleep stage data..mainly all now basic info every night, contacted fitbit followed their alleged fix,no joy there, followed every known restart, reset, tight band ,sleep sensitivity settings etc etc, literally every thing tried to no avail, every single other function working good..no explanation from fitbit if this is a background software/firmware problem on their end & if they are working to fix the issue as it seems to be a wide problem now...anyone got any info on if they are fixing the problem?
thanks

Hi
If having the Windows 10 Fitbit app for Windows 10 (microsoft store), feel free to check if the setting 'sleep insights' is turned on.

At the risk of being slightly depressing, it could be something to do with you rather than with the tracker. Perhaps there’s something it can’t detect on you that it needs for the enhanced display detail?
Is there someone else who could wear it for a night and see how they get on?

hahaha, not depressing at all,i have noticed that the longer & deeper i sleep on certain nights i seem to get the basic readings, pulse is probably too low & slow to give detailed info...if i have a restless night it tends to give more detail but also basic as well so its six of one half dozen of the other!..obviously the HR tech is not as accurate as we would all like it to be...i'll try to not lose any sleep over it!..hahahaha.

I had the same issue with my Fitbit ionic and this fix worked for me:
1) Place the Fitbit on the tightly between wrist and forearm without it being uncomfortable and cutting off circulation.
2) Make sure your heart rate reading on your Fitbit is also showing on the app (important)
3) When you wake up you should have the detailed sleep info.

having the same issue and Customer service couldnt resolve. It worked 1st night then stopped. I restarted my ionic and that night it worked again, but then after that stopped showing details again despite a reboot. Frustrating. I have worn it no different than the days it worked

Omg I'm so frustrated. Suddenly out of the blue like 5 days ago it stopped showing my sleep stages too! And that is why I purchased the watch!
They need to fix it!!
It worked when I wore the watch on the underside of my wrist so that the sensor was on the part of the wrist where we normally would check for a pulse. But we should NOT have to wear the watch to bed like that in order for it to work! I'm very frustrated!

Exactly! It worked well the whole month of October. Now suddenly it stopped working!

Yes that's true. If it can give basic sleep info all the time, then the detailed info should not be an issue. I'm thinking it has to do with the app update rather than the Fitbit itself.

I have the same issue. I got detailed sleep readings for the first couple of weeks and now I get only basic details. There has been no change in how I use the ionic or its position.
I changed the clock face and it worked for a couple of days in between. I think this might have to do with bad software update?

I tried that. It worked for 3 nights. Now the sleep stage issue is back!
Very frustrating. I was planning on returning it before it began working correctly but I really like the other features. Therefore, I’ve decided to keep it and pray that this issue will be correct!

I tried do what you said. I worked fine for 3 nights then the problem reoccurred.
I planned on returning the Ionic but I like the other features. I’ve decided to wait it out and believe Fitbit that they are working on the issue.

Yes. I am having the same issue again as well. I don't think it has anything to do with the Fitbit itself. It's the app that is the issue, since we all are able to get the basic sleep info , not the detailed info. Fitbit needs to either revise our update the app.

After having the same issues, I believe Fitbit put out a patch to fix the problem. When I turned on my phone my Fitbit app rebooted and apparently updated. Now I have been receiving detailed sleep information for one straight week now! Crossing my fingers that it continues to work..

I had the Blaze before and it worked fine. It feels like my sensors are off. I've only gotten sleeps 3 days out of 14. It seems I have to wear it so tight that I can't feel my arm in the morning. The update did not fix this for me. I miss the Blaze.

I believe it has more to do with the app than the Fitbit itself, especially when people with different models have the same issue. All I know it that after my app suddenly rebooted, I've been getting detailed sleep info ever since. I think Fitbit added a patch for the problem.
