notifications during exercise

I was 3-4 mins into tracking my elliptical workout when someone called me.  My Ionic stopped tracking the exercise and I had to re-start tracking.  I checked my activities and there was no record of the first 3-4 mins.  Anyone else have this happen to them?  Thanks!

And to clarify - I saw the notification on my Ionic but I didn't stop and answer the phone.
