Syncing manually vs automatic

How do I change the automatic syncing to manual? I'm in workweek hustle challenges and I don't want everyone to see it before end of the week.

Only way I know is to keep your phone and Fitbit far away from each other, or turn your phone's bluetooth off and accept everything else that goes with that.  Would you want everybody else to keep their steps secret until end of week also, and just make it all one big surprise at the end of week?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
