When will SpO2 tracking be available on Luxe?

Hi, congrats on your new product.

But I'll will have to pass for now. I'm looking for a tracker that will check my SpO2 levels. My Charge 3 was supposed to track it (later, with a software update). It never has.

Now, with the Luxe, it's later, with a software update. Again.

So, when ? Will it be free, or only for your "Premium" customers ?

Wait and see, I guess.

Hi everyone and for the ones that are new to the Fitbit Community, welcome.

I've moved some of your posts to this thread so we can keep the forums organized. I'm happy to share with you that your Luxe is now able to track your SpO2 data during sleep. Please make sure your tracker is updated to the latest firmware version 1.151.16 and verify if you're located in a supported country. To learn more about this feature and how to see your data, please see this help article.

Your feedback and patience are truly appreciated. We'll keep working to improve your experience and make Fitbit more useful for you.

Have a good rest of your week. 😊

Charge 4 has it I have one and I love it and it has sp02

Best Answer

I have read that it will be available on this device after launch.

Best Answer

Thanks, I didn't know that about the Charge 4.

I need to check my SpO2 levels during all night. Does the Charge 4 allow that ?

@makou   It sounds like you are looking for a spot SpO2 measurement.  No Fitbit models give a spot SpO2 measurement.

I see the product listing for the Luxe basically states the SpO2 tracking is coming soon, which leads me to believe it will become available with a firmware update as is the case with the Charge 4. What is the expected timeline for the rollout for the firmware update on the Luxe? When does it start and when does Fitbit expect most customers will receive it? There are a lot of people (myself included) who are still waiting for the firmware update for their charge 4 trackers more than a month after the SpO2 capability was announced, (a quick Google search shows articles marketing it since March 3rd) so I’m wondering if Luxe customers can expect a similar wait.

Sorry, but nobody here could know the answer to that, at least until it comes out and people can try it.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply, however, I am looking for a Fitbit employee to answer this question. A customer would not have this information, but Fitbit support would.

After speaking with customer support directly, it appears this feature will indeed be dependent upon a firmware update that will NOT be available out of box for those that pre-order, and there is no timeline available for the release of the update that will make this feature functional. That’s the actual answer to my question.

Here is my guess as to the real answer I’m looking for:  The Charge 4 had built in SpO2 capability that wasn’t activated until a year after release, but it also was not advertised to have that capability until the first week of March 2021. The firmware update for that device won’t be fully rolled out until the first week of May 2021. Based on that timeline and the fact that the Luxe is already advertised to be SpO2 capable, I’m guessing SpO2 tracking could be available to all Luxe customers sometime in July 2021.

So the answer was that it will be in a firmware update, as you already suspected.  And support gave you no timeline estimate so you came up with your own.

Hi,

Does the Fitbit Luxe have SpO2? It was advertised by everyone and Fitbit as having SpO2, but I cannot find the SpO2 feature in the watch itself nor on the app for my Luxe.

Did Fitbit decide to remove this feature last minute for the Luxe even though it was advertised as a feature, or do they still plan to add it?

Thanks!

I only ordered it for this reason.  I have the sense which to too large for my wrist.  Was so excited it arrived till setting up I figured out it wasn't there.

The SpO2 is planned and will arrive "later" on the Luxe.

@peacey8  @MSASTER   The Fitbit Store says that the SpO2 is "coming soon" and will come in a firmware update.  @makou is correct.

One of the announced features is Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) Monitoring, but I don't understand how I can see that. Can anyone help me?

As far as I know this is planned to be available later. I guess it will be an additional app?

Good sign is that the sensor is there and today morning I saw not only green light to monitor pulse but also red/orange light which should register SpO2.

Anyone knows when SpO2 will be released?

I tweeted Fitbit support and their reply was it would be available "later this year".

I find this very disappointing as they sold the device as having the SpO2 feature, all the press regarding the Luxe touted the SpO2 feature.

Incredibly disrespectful to customers to not only delay the release of the device then not forewarn customer who preordered the device that the software would be incomplete.

I am very displeased.

I am not here to judge. I wish this was available at the start but I knew it won’t. This was mentioned in the specification already in the beginning.

Also, there are other posts in this forum about it.

Sensor is there, knowledge should be there (other fitbit devices already track it) so my guess is just a software app missing. And yeah- here I really do not understand why. Perhaps the software for Luxe is completely different than in other fitbit devices.

Anyway, let’s hope it comes sooner than later.

I really didn't notice that it would not be there when I bought it. It doesn't make sense that they are selling something that is not finished.

It was one of the features that are important to me. Now I will have to wait.
