90 Day Weight Loss Challenge

ANSWERED

I'm starting a 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge on January 1, 2016.

My goal is to lose 20 pounds. I previously lost 60 pounds from May 2011 through December 2012 and would like to trim down a bit more.

Anyone interested?

Track your starting weight on Day 1 and your ending weight on Day 90.  This group will be here to encourage and support each other, while also holding each other accountable.  Feel free to share your successes and challenges, along with any helpful tips.  You can also ask questions.

Good morning!! Just doing my weekly check in! It's a bit brisk here at -42 degrees Celsius the last couple of days ...so I needed to give myself a HUGE pep talk to get out the door to the gym this morning!! But I did it! Since starting this challenge I have been completely committed to the gym and to eating clean and I feel absolutely amazing!! An added bonus to this..my clothes are fitting loose.. I've moved a notch in my belt..and the scale is treating me VERY well!!  Along with this ,,brain fog is gone, joints are not aching, and  I have so much more energy through the day...For me, getting rid of sugar is the best thing I have done! It truly wreaked havoc in so many aspects of my general health!!

Have a wonderful Sunday my friends! And here is to a super week ahead!!

Good morning everyone. Just wanted to share my progress with you ---since Jan 1st lost 14lbs & changing my lifestyle. My first week of owning my FitBit (Christmas to New years) I could barely walk 4,000 steps a day and now I'm up to 15,000 steps/day. I feel so much better and my clothes are getting loose. My resting HR was in the 90's and now averages about 78. I am using my FitBit to track everything (water intake, what I eat, sleep, HR). I love the FitBit community for support and encouragement. Stay active and participate in challenges or start one. It helps keep you motivated. Have a great day!

Hi All, I am so frustrated I could scream.  Between our phone service and my fitbit losing my total step numbers, I'm going nuts.  Ever since it rained in CA, we have been having trouble with our Internet service and they (the phone company) keep wanting to close the ticket because they think everything is OK, NOT.  Then I'm working my butt off, trust me I have a lot of working to do, and fitbit will lose 15,000 steps and then give back 5,000, but not all my steps, aaaarrrrggggghhhhh  I know what I'm doing, but it's just disheartening to look at something and know that it is incorrect.  I'm losing weight, which is what I want to do so I just need to be happy with that.  I've lost 30 lbs since beginning this whole transformation journey, on this challenge I've lost 9 lbs, and I'm still going strong.  So, why am I belly aching, I don't know, I'm just frustrated, but happy.  OK, enough whining.  It is nice to see that everyone is doing so well and sticking to their plan of healthy eating and exercising.  My husband, he has lost 38 lbs, and I are changing our lifestyles and it is great.   Thank you coach for all the information on nutrition, it is very helpful.  Hang in there everyone you all are doing great and you're getting so healthy, yes.   Have a great week and as long as my Internet is up I'll keep chatting with you all.

Congrats on the weight loss for you and your hubby. Don’t let the missing fitbit steps upset you. You know what you’ve done and that's what matters. Keep up the awesome work. You got this!

Well, I guess I'm closing out the evening, it is 11:42pm.  I just finished getting my 10,000 and running up and down my stairs at home to make my 10 flights, I'm good.  This is a journey.   You all have a wonderful, fun, and healthy fitbit day tomorrow and stay safe.  Thanks all for the words of encouragement, they make the journey just that much better.

Anyone use the Challenge feature on the app to have step contests?  I find them motivating, even if I lose hard against the high steppers.

Hello everyone

I would very much like to take part in this, i put my fitbit on Christmas Day and have been motivated since.

I have lost about 10lbs so far through eating well and being active, so keeping on track through a group would be great.

...count me in 🙂

One thing that my 5x5 buddies and I have noticed in the gym is that a lot of the New Years Resolutioners appear to have lost resolve already. Most of the people that are there now regulalrly in the gym are the same people that we used to see there in December. There are a few new faces, and hopefully they will stick at it. As I hope will the people taking this challenge. Stick with it. It pays off. I can personally vouch for that. My journey back to fitness started almost 15 years ago now, when in my early forties I found I could no longer walk a couple of miles along the beach at Whitstable - totally flat. This was an epiphany. I went to the gym the next day and have pretty much maintained at least a twice a week habit ever since, with some minor lapses. I went from 150kg (~330lb) and over 45% body fat to averaging 110kg and ~20% body fat. Lowest I got to was 95kg and ~14% body fat, but my partner said I looked like a steroidal zombie!!! So I started to eat more and do less resistance training. At the moment I have put on a bit of weight and my body fat has crept up over 25%, which is definitely on the high side. Hence the enrollment in this challenge. That said, I am still fit and active for someone approaching 60, eat well, and have done for a while, with the odd treat thrown in. I intend to stay that way. And hopefully change some of this fat into muscle and drop a few kg's as well.

Did my first weigh-in since Jan 1st today. Almost exactly the same weight 119kg, as when I started, which is fine by me. The belt has gone in one notch and my resting heart-beat has gone down from averaging 70bpm when I got my fitbit for Christmas to averaging 61bpm yesterday. Have been good with the drinking, still true to #DryJanuary, and have mostly been good with the food. Although did have a few onion rings on Sunday evening - like I said you need some treats in life. Have hit the 10,000 steps pretty much every day, although with the work out regimen I am doing (5x5 every other day with 15 minutes HIIT, and 30-45 minutes fat burn cardio the alternate days) I have decided to have one day of almost total rest a week. Again a bit of a treat.

Hope everyone else is enjoying it as much as I am.

Went to my first whole body boost with sandbags workout, it was killer.   I did my step class and then the new class, I was sweating like there was no water shortage in CA.  I came home and took a nice long bath and felt much better.  I wish I could say that the first thing I think about when I wake up was going to the gym, but it is not.   I, however, do go to the gym four days a week, so that is something.   I like exercising, I'm just not there where if I don't have it I feel bad, man I wish I was there, but for now I'll just keep getting up in the morning and going to the gym early in the morning.  I hope all of you are having a wonderful time with this fitbit and exercising and eating healthy, I'm still on the journey.   I have good days and bad days, but I will never quit or give up.   Have a great tomorrow and stay healthy.

Good for you Selena. I started on January 11th. I am doing quite well
with the calories but not with the steps. Some days I just can't get
moving.

It is inspiring to read about everyone’s progression and great attitude.  Keep up the good work and positive vibes.  I feel great; however, I have hit a weight loss plateau.  Not sure how to bust it but will keep pushing myself at the gym and stay on course with healthy eating habits.  Calorie intake is well below calorie burn according to fit bit and gym equipment.  Since my journey started, (in July) I am down 30 pounds.  These are my last 20 pounds to obtain my goal and ideal weight.  These last 20 pounds are just so frustrating to lose.  On a positive note, I am down several clothes sizes and feel much better.  I am physically fit and so much stronger than I have ever been and have turned into a fitness junkie.  Now if only my darn body will get with the program and drop some pounds!  Have a great night.  All those in the path of Blizzard Jonah, stay warm, stay safe and stay active!
