90 Day Weight Loss Challenge

ANSWERED

I'm starting a 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge on January 1, 2016.

My goal is to lose 20 pounds. I previously lost 60 pounds from May 2011 through December 2012 and would like to trim down a bit more.

Anyone interested?

Track your starting weight on Day 1 and your ending weight on Day 90.  This group will be here to encourage and support each other, while also holding each other accountable.  Feel free to share your successes and challenges, along with any helpful tips.  You can also ask questions.

Everyday I'm making a real effort to get my 10k steps.  Today I walked to Costco, about a 2.5 mile walk each way and I enjoyed the evening walk.  I realized today that if I don't exercise first thing in the morning stuff has a way of getting in the way.   This has to be a way of life, the better eating and exercising everyday.  I say those words with my mouth, but my head hasn't made the transition of - I need to exercise in order to lose weight, and in order to be healthy I need to exercise and eat better.  I am a work in progress and that is always  better than not working towards progress at all.   Have a fitbit kind of day tomorrow all, stay active and safe.

Good words: we are all works in progress!  Nothing worth it comes easily, and we have to keep in our minds why we are taking these steps to begin with.  It will take time to achieve our goals, and we may not always see immediate results, but we will ultimately get there if we keep at it.

Right now I can't help but hum the Rocky theme song, getting stronger, and yes that does feel good.  I'm losing inches, and that's really good, and I'm hanging in there and keeping it real and trying hard to have fun alone the way.  Never give up on your dreams, because if we keep at it those dreams can and do become reality.   Here's to a fitbit good day.

I started/restared my weight loss goal on !st Dec 2015 when my weight hit 71.9kg , and by 3rd Jan 2016 I had lost 2kg, weighing in at 69.9kg. Since then I have lost in total 3.6kg with my weight on 24th Jan being 68.3kg. I am in Australia and all our measurements are metric. I still have 10.3kg to go to get to my ultimate goal of 58kgs which is BMI 24 for my height of 155cm or 5'1". I am working a deficit of 250-400 calories per day which isnt much when some times I only manage to burn 1600 calories but I keep on trying, a loss is a loss even if only 100grams, it all adds up.

I have been doing lots of stuff on the cross-trainer but the fitbit does not recognise the distance when I use the elliptical exercise function. Anyone else have this issue and find a solution that they can share? Thanks.

First 30 day update.  Since the start of the challenge, I have dropped a net of 15 lbs.  More than that though, I am beginning to fit into my clothes better.  For instance, a suit jacket I could not even button before I am able to button.  The pants I am now wearing are two inches smaller in the waist.

It is all about the small victories.  Now to focus on resuming a deficit in February after eating around maintenance for the latter part of January.  My goal for the second set of 30 days is another 8 to 10 lbs gone.  I am also aiming to increase the amount of weight training sessions I do.

How are others faring?

Would you worry about heart rate when shopping? I think the steps would count more then, at least while you have a trolley or basket in your hands.

Yes, I worked for 45 minutes on the elliptical and my steps went hardly moved.   I also don't show movement when I'm pushing a shopping cart, funny.

Thanks. If you put it in your pocket you don't get the heart rate, Anybody got a solution that allows for distance/steps and heart rate monitoring at the same time??

Today was a very good day, yes!   I tracked all the food I ate today, this was my first day doing that since I began this challenge.   I am so impressed by the folks in this challenge that track everyday, I hope to join your ranks.   To all the newbies, welcome to the group.  I am so happy coach started this group and I am thankful for all the people who have joined, you're good people.   Stick with the program, don't give up, this is a life long journey.

I'm about a month late since I just got the app, but I'll gladly join this group. I'll see if I can lose 13.5 pounds by the end of 60 days (beginning of April).

Starting weight in February: 205.5 lbs.

@NYCINNAMON Great job already.  Just work at getting in your 10k steps everyday and doing what you did to lose the first 25lbs.  You will reach your goal weight before May and find a fun, non food way to celebrate the day.
