90 Day Weight Loss Challenge

ANSWERED

I'm starting a 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge on January 1, 2016.

My goal is to lose 20 pounds. I previously lost 60 pounds from May 2011 through December 2012 and would like to trim down a bit more.

Anyone interested?

Track your starting weight on Day 1 and your ending weight on Day 90.  This group will be here to encourage and support each other, while also holding each other accountable.  Feel free to share your successes and challenges, along with any helpful tips.  You can also ask questions.

Greetings all,I love reading your posts and I love the ongoing encouragement I see, keep up the good work everyone.

My halo slipped this week and despite one day of scoffing 10 belgian chocolates, a Mothers Day gift that I found on my verandah when I got home from the doctor's, I still had a reasonable week. Why did I scoff them? Got a call back on my Breastscreen, an anomoly had been found and a call back on two ugly lumps that came up on my forearm. As it turned out despite my stressing, the anomoly was nothing to be concerned about, just a cyst that will go away in its own time but the two lumps on my arm will have to be cut out, so that will hamper my resistance training somewhat as they are going to take one a week. Should not have stressed as much as I did, but I didnt want to be sick again. Anyway it will soon all be water under the bridge again as I am back on track and still under 61kg.

CSW Apr 1, 61.6kg (136.8 lbs)

PW   Apr 30, 60.8kg (134.1 lb)

CW  May 7, 60.9kg (134.3 lb) BMI 25.3

GW this challenge 60kg (132.3 lb)

UGW 57kg (125.7 lb) BMI 23.7

@RubyH good luck with the surgery. I had something similar happen recently so I understand the chocolate thing! I couldn't help but to let myself have a few treats before the biopsy and until I got the results. Fortunately when I'm worried I tend to stay busy to burn off that nervous energy, so I worked out enough to burn off what I ate.  You're past the worst part now (the not knowing), so I'm sure that you'll stay focused from this point on.

Also I love the quote at the bottom of your posts! so inspiring.

Thank you @DJC_63, I have revised my diet again and going back to very strict LCHF (10% nett Carbs) as I seem to do best on this minimal amount and will work on my core and legs while my arm is out of action. Thank you for your support.

My stats for this challenge prove I have to stick to my LCHF ratios, back on 1300 calries a day with a burn of 1400-1600per day, but Ive found for me that the defecit is meaningless to me and sticking with my ratios of 9-10%Nett Carbs, 25%Protein and 65%Healthy Fats the unwanted fat just falls off, on 1300 Cals per day that equates to 29.3gr Nett Carbs, 81.3gr Protein and 95.3gr Healthy Fats.

USW June 1, 2013, 84kg, 185.2 lbs, BMI 35

CSW Mar 31, 2016, 62.3kg, 137.4 lbs, BMI 25.9

LM     Apr 30, 2016, 60.8kg, 134.1 lbs, BMI 25.3

LW     May 7, 2016, 60.9kg, 134.3lbs, BMI 25.3

CW   May 14, 2016, 60.3kg, 9st 7lbs, 133lbs, 25.1

GW This challenge 130 lbs

UGW 9 st, 57kg, 126lbs, BMI 23.7

At goal I am going to up my allowance to 1500 calories a day, keeping to my ratios it will equate to 33.8gr Nett Carbs, 93.8gr Protein and 110gr Healthy Fats. I have found I cannot have even a touch of sugar without an instant headache or floury carbs without instant bloat and nausea so i will be stcicking to my ratios for life, simply because it seems to be what is best for me. And my workouts are energising me to do more so as my output rises so will my intake but I will maintain my ratios accordingly.

Remember! The successful have failed more times than the spectator has even attempted.

Hi all,

I am a day early as my official weigh in day is tomorrow, but I'm chuffed at how far I have come. I have been strict with my macros this week and it has paid off.

USW June 1, 2013, 84kg, 185.2 lbs.

CSW Mar 31, 2016, 62.3kg, 137.4 lbs.

PW    May 14, 2016, 60.3kg, 133 lbs. BMI 25.1

CW    May 20, 2016, 59.8kg, 131.9 lbs, BMI 24.9

UGW 57 kg, 126 lbs, BMI 23.7 but that may have to be revised even lower as my recent ultrasound shows I still have fat in and around both my pancreas and liver, so my goals may yet have to be 55kg, 123.1 lbs, BMI 22.9 which I personally think is a bit low for me so I will see what my next revision shows in August.

You Can, I Can, We Can, Do It Together ! Best wishes everyone !

Greetings all,

I'm early again, guess I am a bit bored with all this enforced idleness, I got a second infection, chest this time, so the antibiotics and rest continue and so because I am burning very little, I have reduced my intake accordingly and working on an approx 150 decifit but maintaining my macros, currently I am burning between 1192 and 1233 a day and eating about 1060 a day and still losing weight. Doesn't add up if you are supposed to burn 3500 to lose a pound, must be the macros and that I am becoming more of a fat burner than a carb burner, but I have lost 2.6 lbs this week and 5 BMI points, down from 59.1 kg or 130.3 lbs to 57.9 kg or 127.7 lbs. With the lower calorie intake my macros have been about 18-20g Nett Carbs, 55-59g Protein and 80-83g heathy Fats. I am finally below the 130 lbs I was working on, and well within striking distance of the 126 lbs I hope to achieve.

Best wishes all.

@RubyH - I've seen a lot of people talk about the same.  Some people think that the fever causes the body do burn.  Some think this is BS.  I've seen what you do.  When I'm running a fever I'll eat more, and still sometimes lose weight.

Anyway, hope you're on the road to recovery.

Thanks @A_Lurker, I did have a temp and a raised heart rate during both infections and there could be some validity to the extra burn case. Either way, I've stayed in ketosis on a minimal deficit and am glad of the loss in weight. All the closer to goal. Have a great day/weekend.

Well two days later and I'm almost back to where i was 23rd May, looks like my last two weigh ins were fluid loss and not weight at all as I am back to 59.5kg (131.2 lbs) today, yesterday and today my weight just leap frogged back up there again. So not happy but I guess my metabolism needs time to adjust all over again.

Nothing worth having is cheap or easy, you really do have to work hard for it.

Greetings all,

Nearly at the end of this challenge and I'm wondering where everyone has gone?

I am finally getting back to where I was at the tail end of my infections, lol,

Jun 3, 57.9kg, 127.7 lbs, BMI 24.1

Jun 11, 58.5kg, 129 lb, BMI 24.3

Jun 18, 58.2kg, 128.3 lb, BMI 24.2

Jun 25, 57.8kg, 127.4 lb, BMI 24.1

UGW 55kg, 121.3 lb, BMI 22.9 or as close as I can get to it by next ultrasound in August. Hopefully the organ fat is gone by then, as I am where I want to be right now and like what I see and am only going for 55kg to try and rid my liver and pancreas of the extra fat deposits showing up within them.

@RubyH All is well.  I'm in the process of buying a home and moving within the next 12 days.  I've been busy with that and my weight loss business.  Yes.  The 90 Day Challenge will continue today.  It is a perpetual 90 Day Challenge, so people can join at anytime.  Thanks for checking on me.
