Hello, Everyone!
As we keep trying to break plateaus, loose weight and detox our body, I thought you might be interested in the blog that I just found. Of course, we don't need to pay to participate in it, but we can all juice fast every once in a while to get the results we desire. So, here's the link (I hope you can open it):
This challenge is almost over. Looks like I made it to 145 lbs, but I can tell that I could go a few pounds lower. Maybe I can get there in the future challenges. It was a pleasure meeting you all here, and enjoyed reading your posts and watching your victories.
Best wishes to EVERYONE OF YOU!

My week has been busy! Wednesday, we got a new dog. It's a 7 lb chihuahua, so I'm quite occupied, trying to make sure the other two dogs and cat are welcoming him. I was invited to a 5K walk today and took the new pup with me. He got tired and rode in my jacket part of the way, but at least I got in my 10,000 steps. I will be walking with my mother at the mall tomorrow instead of the river trail, since there are showers expected.
I haven't been on the scale in almost two weeks. I'm leaving it alone until I feel something change in my clothes. I'm sick of it. I have some plans on changes I can make to get in more aerobic activity. Walking isn't working anymore, just like my water aerobics classes stopped working after a while. Our bodies get used to things and we have to change it up. That's the tough part...knowing when and how and how much to change. So tricky.
Anyway, I'll check in again within a few days.

Another week down, but am struggling on the exercise front.
I went for my first walk in 16 days on Tuesday and it felt great. Was all pumped and looking forward to my walk for breast cancer this weekend. And then 5 minutes after I finished the walk the pain struck. And it struck worse than I have had it.
My knee hurt to touch, it hurt to bend, it hurt the next day going up stairs.
So Wednesday I didn't walk, I let it rest. Thursday again, I was too scared to walk. Friday I went again and the same thing happened. So again, I cancelled my return to my HIIT Booty Burn class because I don't want any extra trauma to me knee.
I just don't know what to do. The doctor was adamant the MRI cleared any damage or arthritis. I can't go walking in a pool, I don't have access to one. I don't know of any other exercise I can do that will burn calories but not impact my knee.
It is becoming quite frustrating. I have the willingness to lose this weight but this is holding me back!
In desperation I went and bought some medication that is for sale here in Australia called Panadol Osteo. It is a paracetomol aimed at people with Osteoarthritis but have been told by friends since it is just a different way of taking paracetomol - it is just a slow release version which actually has less paracetamol than taking 2 regular ones, so think I may have just wasted my money on that, at least it was cheap.
So I really don't know what to do in regards to the whole exercise thing. I am taking extra care on my food intake to counter the lack of exercise and it seems to still be working.
USW - 103kg (227pounds) (1st Jan 2018)
SW - 92.2kg (203.2pounds) - 1/4/18 (starting weight for the Challenge)
CW - 88kg (194pounds) - 6/5/18
PW - 89kg (196.2.8pounds) - 29/4/18
GW – 89.5kg (197.3pounds)
UGW- 67kg (147pounds)
I have 1kg (2.2pounds) to go and I will be the lightest weight I have been in 11 years. Would be awesome to reach that goal by the end of the challenge next week but in reality, I am really happy with what I have achieved with this challenge and am really looking forward to the next one. I figure each challenge I do will help me get out of the 80kg range and break into the 70's.(176.15pounds).

@bethanysmum2002, looks like you did make progress every week, in spite of the pain on your knee. That's reason to celebrate.
I don't know the cause of your pain, but a friend of mine, who is a medical doctor, recommended me Glucosamine with Chondroitin Turmeric MSM Boswellia - Joint Pain Relief Supplement - Anti-Inflammatory & Antioxidant Pills by Nuvertex Health for your Back, Knees, Hands - Natural & Non-Gmo.
He is taking that, himself, and said that, although it did not reverse his problem, it kept it from advancing. Of course, Glucosamine will probably not alleviate your knee pain, but if you want to stop the damage, I thought I'd share this for your consideration. I bought mine from amazon.com, although it seems like the changes I made to my diet has taken care of it (I only used glucosamine/chondroitin a few times).
I also read that dairy products cause inflammation - I was able to finally get read of dairy milk and cheese about three months ago (this was the hardest to replace!), and I can definitely see the change in my body.
Oh, I also remember from previous challenges that @_Lilac_ used to have similar pain, and when it was hard to walk, she went to the swimming pool, and did her exercises there. Maybe she will be able to share with you about her experiences and solutions.
Have a great final week on this challenge!

@bethanysmum2002 I read your post about your knee. Walking the darned mall floors all last winter killed mine. I saw a specialist who said it was some sort of cyst that develops with a build up of fluid in the joint. I had minimal to no arthritis in it. As @Bogdel mentioned, I live very close to the YMCA pool so I would do their water aerobics classes to get in my exercise. You said you don't have access to a pool. My suggestion then is to check youtube for chairbound exercises. This is an option for anyone with mobility issues. The muscles in the top half of the body aren't as big or strong as the lower half, so you might not burn as many calories, but it will improve your cardio and some strength. There are low impact videos on there for morbidly obese people, those with knee/joint issues, wheelchairs, etc. I love the low impact videos by Leslie Sansone. The one minute happy mile is great. I did it with my bad knee, just had to be careful.
I hope this gives you some ideas!

I love the Leslie Sansone videos, I just have to be careful with sideways steps with my knee, but it is easy to just do modify it to what I need!
Make sure and listen to your body, there is a difference between pushing yourself to work harder and actual pain, pain is there to tell your body to slow down! For my knee i do shorter walks more often.

What a busy few days. I bought a gazebo for my deck so I had to beg my brother in law to help me put it up. We got the frame assembled yesterday but the rest will have to be done next weekend. I did a huge yard clean up Friday and today. This morning Mom and I walked the river trail and watched the tide come in. It's a tidal river so it comes in whoosh in one wave. I took my chubby dog (who is now on a diet) on a longer walk tonight so I have almost 12,000 steps for the day.
I'm having an invasive medical procedure on Wednesday that requires me to have a clear liquid diet for two days. Fun, fun. I guess this is going to be putting my system into one of those shocks I keep needing.
I'm hoping to take my bike out for my first ride of the spring/summer. I got it last year after not having been on a bike in many many years. I hope that new activity will also provide a shock to my body.
Have a great night everyone. I hope the new week will be full of fun.

Thanks for the advice about my knee everyone.
@Bogdel I did ask my doctor about Glucosamine and he actually said to me that he felt it wasn't really worth taking as it is not proven to help but at this stage, I'm still willing to give it a go, just to see.
@_Lilac_ I will definitely check out those videos you recommended.
Last week I still wanted to get out for my walks because I had the charity walking coming up on the weekend. I went for a walk on Monday but really took it easy. Again on Tuesday, back out again. In fact I reduced the intensity so much that my first loop that I usually do in about 18 minutes took me 22 minutes. At the end of the walk though, no pain. So that was good.
I was so busy for the rest of the week I didn't have a chance to go again before our Mother's Day Classic walk yesterday.
It was so good, I'm so glad my girls came with me, even if it meant that they had to be up before the sun on a Sunday, LOL. I really wanted to make the most of it and at the start of the year I had made myself a goal (before the knee issue) to do the 4kms (2.48miles) in less than 40 minutes. I took paracetamol about an hour before we went. The walk was great. We were walking along the city foreshore and the weather was perfect. And then as we were approaching the finish line, I saw something that really touched me. I was walking behind a lady, she had been walking on her own. On her right hand side her teenage son came up to her with her young daughter. She grabbed her daughter's hand and her daughter held her brother's hand. On the lady's other side, her other teenage son came up and linked his arm through hers and they just looked at each other and smiled. She was obviously a survivor and was there with her kids. It made me tear up. Here I am complaining about a sore knee that hurts when I stop exercising and here are these women who have been to hell and back and can still get out there. I didn't want to hold back so I gave it everything I had regardless of what might happen when I finished walking. I jogged the last few hundred metres and crossed the finish line 37 minutes after I started. I hit my goal. - My goal for next year - less than 35 minutes.
One of my most favourite Mother's Day photos since becoming a mum!
And on the walk back to the car afterwards, my knee was achy but not the intense pain I've felt that can actually make my knee buckle.
Maybe if I just do regular, less intense walks more often I can do this!
And so here we are at the last weigh in of the Challenge.
USW - 103kg (227pounds) (1st Jan 2018)
SW - 92.2kg (203.2pounds) - 1/4/18 (starting weight for the Challenge)
CW - 86.8kg (191.36pounds) - 13/5/18
PW - 88kg (194pounds) - 6/5/18
GW – 89.5kg (197.3pounds)
UGW- 67kg (147pounds)
A total loss of 5.4kgs (11.9pounds) in 6 weeks. I have accomplished so much in the 18 weeks of my journey so far:
Now for my next few goals on my long journey to my UGW :
I still have a long way to go but 2 very beautiful reasons to do it!

@bethanysmum2002, First, I am totally impressed with you. Your acievements amaze me! Secondly, you have two absolutely beautiful daughters (just like their mother ;).
I am on a vacation in the sunny Florida, and I am enjoying every minute of it, but there is a downside to it: being away from home, I ate things that were delicious, but not necessarily good for me. I don't have a scale here, but I can tell that I have put back some of the weight that I have lost in this challenge. So, I'm afraid that I"ll have to start all over again...which us OK. I've done it before, and I can do it again.
@_Lilac_, I hope you will be able to do this again. I will be traveling to Europe in June-July, but I will try to stay connected and to continue this journey to wellness with you all.
Blessings and strength, everyone! It has been a pleasure to do this with you.

@_Lilac_, I will be thinking of you on Wednesday, as you have the medical procedure. I pray that everything goes well. Please, stay in touch and let us know.

CW- 210.6
GW- 205.0 (5/13/18)

Still not giving up!

05-18-2018 04:06
Starting numbers
usw- 211 (this time)
sw- 188.7
cw- 179.5
gw - no goal set for the challenge just want to stay focused and see what i can get to by Mothers day 180??
ugw- 175 ??
I made my goal of 180 for Mothers Day just scraped under at 179.5 lol
I would love to do another challenge with you all. I know the next 5 lbs will be harder to get off due to many things. I am feeling so much better where I am, I have tons of events and challenges the next few months. Will be really hard to stay focused on my weight, and I find when i am not really focused I very very easily get side tracked (more like hit by a train) lol

Nora and I are able to walk some now after being side lined for a year. The stem cells and all the therapy have gotten the planters under control where I can do my 5 miles again. Just have to take care of it and use ice, stretch and roll it and it should be good. We just don't run yet but still get in 70 min of cardio and quite a bit of peak when walking so I guess we can do the challenge.
