Changing food habits isn't always easy but it's possible, are we eating out of hunger? That snack in the evening before television, do we really need if just eated a epic meal until comfortably satisfied?

When eating natural foods overall, eating those first, even if having a little treat, it's nearly impossible to overeat and staying satisfied for longer.

Being carefull with preprocessed foods (mostly higher in calories, added sugars), the added sugars making possible wanting to eat more (even when possible not really needing more), just cause it tastes so good.

Never eat something you don't like, whenever possible to have the choice, allow to have anything desired in the moment when hungry (as going to have anyway), not really needing the other food, saving lots of calories in the longer run..

Trick is also to eat until comfortable satisfied, not stuffed.. as that's a sign of possible overeated..

Enjoy all the foods,

Eating because you are watching tv or bored is the hardest to overcome

For me, I just do it out of habit, not because I am hungry

Eating out of boredom or habit is the very thing I am concentrating on.  I'm at my goal weight and giving myself a two pound window which I've managed to stay in for well over a month.  My very worst food time is in the evening when I'm tired.  The rest of the day I'm just way too busy to fall into food traps.  But sometimes at night I have eaten way too much after having had an adequate dinner-- and my choices are even pretty weird sometimes.  Right now I am trying to be sure I get some healthy fats in a small planned evening snack-- something like almond butter-- and then when I'm tired I just go to bed.  There is nothing really worth watching on tv anyway and my eyes are too tired by then to read a book.  Lots of years of bad hafbits to overcome but I refuse to give up because my reward has been feeling better than I have felt for 20 years!

@MichaelYar2004  I read one time that the toughest exercise in the world is pushing yoursef away from the table.

My problem is addiction to sugar.  In the evening when I think about sweet stuff, I start to drool like one of those one-eyed out-of-space creatures from The Simpsons.
