February 2017 Step Goal Challenge.

ANSWERED

How It Works:

The purpose of this challenge is to keep track of your daily step goals for February, 2017. This is not a competition to see who can do the most amount of steps, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency . So whether you do 100,1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of 28 for the month can you hit your goal.

Some of you might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and some might have a variable goal throughout the week, for example.

Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day

Sat & Sun = 6k steps a day

Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for this challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.

Suggested Posting Format

1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.

2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 28.

Optional

3) Post either your constant or variable calories burned goal.

4) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 28.

Injury Notice

If you injure yourself during the month and decide scale back the number of steps due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your daily step goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

Started slacking at the end of February, so I definitely need to get back in gear this month.

Just like last month, the target is my break-even point on LoseIt!

I'm in !! And I'm new here!  I'll try for daily 10k steps this month! Smiley Happy

12,500 steps today

4630 calories burned. I think I might have to increase the 3800 goal because I almost always beat that. So I guess my new goal will be 4000 calories per day burned.

Calories burned -  2672

Guess I'm going to have to do more cardio or walk faster to get that calorie burn up.

Everyone have a great day.

I'm in at 10,500 steps a day (I know... but 10K was getting comfortable, so I wanted to bump it up a bit)

If you're consistently hitting your goals and want a challenge, try stepbet.com

  • You get an active goal (a tad above your current level) that you have to hit at least 4x/week
  • You get a stretch goal (about 20% higher) that you have to hit at least 2x/week
  • You get one rest day/week.
  • You bet $X (typically 40) and the total pot is divided by the number of people who successfully complete all 5 weeks. Stepbet takes some off the top, but you will always get back at least your bet if you are successful.

I find that "I will lose $40" is a much more powerful motivator to go walk at 9pm than "I won't get my Fitbit attaboy." The chance to win back more than I put in is just gravy.

(Current payout, with 11 days to go, is $46.65 -- but at the current rate of attrition, I expect it to be about $53 by the end of the period.)
