Have you lost weight since you got your Fitbit?

I am the exact same weight as I was when I got my Flex 3 1/2 months ago!

How about you?

I'm hoping with Spring here and Summer around the corner, that my walking will increase.

I started out weighing in at 276.5lbs. I set my goal at 250 to start. It's been 7 weeks so far, since I bought my Fitbit Charge, and I am down to 256.5. I watch my caloric intake much now than I used to, and workout on my elliptical every other day for a minimum of 30 to 40 minutes. This is the lightest I've been in almost 15 years. I am ecstatic with my progress, how my clothes are fitting and how it has affected my mental state in such a positive way. Worth only 6.5lbs to go to real my goal, I am already looking to my secondary goal of 240. This has been the best money spent, even if all it does is motivate.

I loss a little weight. Is the green goal line on the calories in vs calories out page my BMR ?? That is the only thing I can think why it that low , I would need to eat my then 1300 calories if I burn 2700 calories.

I knw I keep asking about this , I just saw that the only day I in the green for my calories in vs calories out is when I only Eat 1331 calories. If I burn 2200 calories then I need to eat more then 1331 calories. Right??

Yes, I've lost about 3 of those final pesky pounds since getting my fitbit. I lost 110 before getting one and maintained for over a year, but struggled to keep losing weight. It just became less of a priority. Now my priority is getting fit, hence the fit tracker. It's renewed my focus and I love, love, love the integration with loseit. Finally I'm staying consistently under 138 instead of going back and forth between 138 and 143. I can't put into words how grateful I am to fitbit, and to my dad for getting me one. :3

It depends on your goals, and I'm not going on much information here. I think you should calculate your tdee and use that as a reference depending on what your goals are. If fitbit says your day is red but you've eaten within your goals, don't sweat it. I think you can also manually change your calorie needs but I haven't bothered because I know my goal weight tdee by heart!

AS of today I have lost 19 pounds in 3 months. The fitbit motivates me
with the challenges and these forums. I am a regular at the gym. But I
have had increases in weight gain and find that it fluctuates with WHAT I
am eating. Certainly the calorie counting helps but I cannot say a calorie
in = a calorie out. I have started to explore macros and find it
complicated and still have more to understand for my personal caloric
burn. I do find that balancing the protein and complex carb intake helps
with my personal weight loss. I think my metabolic rate is near zero!!!
lol. My body really doesn't tolerate much fat calories ... even good
ones. Salmon will stall my weight loss for 2 days even with a 1500
negative caloric intake. But I am trudging on to learn more about ME and
it feels good.

I'm an Army Ranger, but was severely injured and retired.  I was always in great shape, but lost my way after I was healing.  I gained well over 40 pounds, and I hated it.  I hated the way I looked, the way I felt, and the way it made me act.

Since I started about a month ago, I have lost over 15 pounds and feel great.  I love wearing it, and it has changed my life.

From an angry, grizzled old Ranger:

THANK YOU FitBit!!!

Congrats! Can you direct me to find info regarding "macros"? Thx!

I'm glad to see that the FitBit got you moving again, @BostonBrian!  I, too, got out of shape and put on some weight after retirement. I decided I didn't like the "new me", and started exercising and got my diet back on track.  Now that I am where I want to be, I use the FitBit to help keep me there.

Warrior Queen, start with "bodybuilding.com" and move on from there.  Macros can be hard to understand when it comes to personalizing your own needs.  I am learning to pay attention to the scale being stuck and my nutritional needs.  Seems like my body doesn't like a whole lot of fat (I know I need some).  Even great omega 3 salmon will stall the scale for 2 days!  So instead of a 4 oz portion, I eat 2 ounces.  My sisters body bogs down with carbs.  We are all different..but dig in and learn a little more...weight loss is more than calories in = calories out.  Good luck!

The green goal line is your mark to hit depending on what you have set your calorie deficit at.  You do realize the amount you can eat changes throughout the day depending on how much energy you have burned?  After a few days you will realize you are likely to have a pattern and will know how much you can eat.

I have been trying to loose weight for years now with little to no success. I have found that when I try to diet I end up loosing self control at times and stuffing anything I can into my face. I have now decided to make small changes to my diet I cut down on the pop I drink little by little to the point where I drink almost exclusively water and black coffee. I have also cut back on my portion sizes not what I eat. With these changes I have seen my body weight stabilize and even drop by a few lbs. I decided 2 weeks ago to start exercising at my local fitness center and have lost 7 lbs. I will continue nudging my eating habits toward a healthier life style and hopefully with a little determination get down to my goal weight.

I too was addicted to soda. I now buy lemons and limes by the bag and use
a half lemon/lime twice a day in a glass of ice water. Has really helped
me.

Started at 255 in Jan, down to 199 at last weigh in. I walk at least 50 miles per week, and at around 210 started mixing in jogging (not more that 10-15% for now). No real changes to what I eat, other than no more beer, just strive to keep the dashboard calorie at the low end of green or high end of orange. I started with the charge, and today my surge arrived, wanted the heart rate feature, and was intrigued by the GPS features so i splurged a little. The support from my friends, family, and co workers has been tremendus, and I refuse to get offended by the rather large amount of co workers that only see me every 3-4 months and ask if I'm sick (cancer? operation? etc..) At 6ft, I want to get down to 185, then start working on building up some upper body muscle and maybe a tan (the beach has been a scary thought over the last 15 years). Looking forward to my next annual physical and a pat on the back from my primary care doc and her scary forecast of my future health issues. Lastly, I hope to make these life style changes permanate and not get back to where I was.

@Emujo: 56 pounds in 4 months is really impressive, that’s 3.5 pounds per week in average. Going by the 3500 calories per pound rule of thumb, that’s a 1750 calorie deficit per day in average. Since you appear to be logging your food, is this what you calculated?

I usually show 3-3.5 K out and intake average about 1K, I would also add 10/15% intake as sometimes I am forced to guesstimate home cooked meals (I know there are app that can put this together for you) so yes 1.5. deficit sounds about right. Let me add in that the weight loss has gotten slower in the last 4-6 weeks. When I started, I had a couple of 5 lb per week loses. Emujo
