Have you lost weight since you got your Fitbit?

I am the exact same weight as I was when I got my Flex 3 1/2 months ago!

How about you?

I'm hoping with Spring here and Summer around the corner, that my walking will increase.

Great job! Since I have gotten my Fitbit it has motivated me to do more walking. Logging my meals is a big help too. Keep us posted.

I got my fitbit alta July 10 and I have lost 25 lbs. It motivated me to get moving and I love competing with myself. I am also logging my food and water. The hourly notifications to move have been sooooooooo helpful!

I love it, love it, love it!!!

If you're new to Fitbit---Just Stick To The Darn Plan! Each meal, each walk, each day. People succeed every day and so will you! Start today. The days, weeks, and months roll by, and before you know it, you're suddenly skinnier. You will learn to adjust your portion sizes and feel satisfied, you will learn how to never be hungry.

Weight loss is work. I think of losing weight, (and soon maintaining my weight loss), as a little part time job that I have. Forever.

I've lost 19 pounds from July to mid-November, I have about 15 more pounds to go. Could *never* have done this without FitBit---in fact, I was not able to lose weight years ago using the old model FitBit, when the software was not as good as it is now. Today the software is excellent! It does a great job of compensating for days when I am walking six miles up and down hill, versus days when I'm mostly stuck indoors. I look forward to using the FitBit exercise app, I just got it.

I also paid for the Premium service to monitor my nutrition to make sure I am getting a good mix of macro nutrients, fruits, vegetables, and proteins on a weekly basis. (I eat at least 75 different foods each week.) I have monitored my sleep for fun and learned that I sleep fewer hours than most people, but I knew that already.

I have 2 devices, Alta and One, and my Aria Friend scale. FitBit is for the rest of my life because I cannot maintain weight loss without daily attention. I know because I was a fat baby, fat child, fat teen, fat young adult......

I like the way FitBit makes me feel cared for. I love the fitness flower, the get ready for sleep reminder, the reminders to move every hour, the celebration on my wrist when I hit 5 miles of walking in a day (my daily goal), the way the scale records my weight automatically. I like that One greats me with "LUV U!" These things are NOT silly, these things are incredibly helpful and smart.

With FitBit, I can have the occasional chocolate or a Starbucks Frap, I can go out to eat absolutely anywhere, sample anybody's home cooking, and I am still losing more than a pound a week. I do not believe in forbidden foods although I do believe in fueling my body with delicious, nutrient-rich foods, and these compose 99% of my diet. That leaves 1% wiggle room so I never have to feel like a freak, or apologize to a relative for being "on a diet." I'm not on a diet. This is how I live.

I never go anywhere with a FitBit in my pocket or on my wrist. I come from a family of morbidly obese people, yet without surgery, I'm a size 14. I will probably end up a size 12, which is fine for someone genuinely big boned like me.

To the developers, programmers and thinkers behind FitBit-----Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving. I'll pause to remember you as I enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration next week.

Thank you for sharing your story. I am true believer that FitBit works. It made me be aware how much I am excercising and eating. I have lost 40 lbs since Jan. 1st and I would not have been able to done it without this device.

How did I do it?

Walk at least 10-12K steps per day. I lift weights 3 times a week.

I do my best to eat everything that is plant based not from a box or can.

I sleep at least 7 hours per day.

I write down in my journal how I reflected my day and my goals.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone in the FitBit family!

Whoa! That's some excellent progress @ladystarbucks @FluterDog @pattyjoy @Karina3g4 @Karina3g4!

In my case, it's been a roIler coaster! I haven't weighed in a while; but last time I checked I was 56.5 pounds down. I haven't changed my diet (high protein, whole grains, cooking from scratch, eating small portions every 3 hours) but I didn't really excercise for these past weeks so I guess I'll only know when I get to my doctor's appointment. I'll keep you guys posted! Smiley Very Happy

I actually gained weight since I got my FitBit so I recently stopped wearing it.  I feel that the 10,000 steps is just an arbitrary number and the intensity of one's movement matters more.  I also think the calorie burn was incorrect and made me think I could eat more than I really should.

I am getting back to my goal weight now and feeling good 🙂

I did lose weight since getting Fitbit - 40 pounds so far. But, I lost a bunch before getting Fitbit as well. Actually, I got my Blaze as a reward for losing 10% of my body weight. I really wanted an HR tracker to keep track of my fitness goals and after some research found that Blaze fits my needs almost perfectly.

Yes! I got my FitBit Charge on Dec. 5 and I've lost 1.4 lbs which is a very encouraging start. Climbing stairs to get home every day is really helpful, I can say that much.

I stopped counting calories using charge 2 and app , as it does not do well , but great to monitor the time of my exercise . And if you ever eat to the level that show GREEN In the Zone you never lose anything , my friend and I exercise at the same time  , I intake less calories and losed 11 lb more , I mean never reach GREEN , she always reach GREEN In the Zone , so I ended with 25 lb in 60 + days and she just 14 lb and she was more active all day than me as I have front desk job so sit 12 hours long

Also not every woman burns 2000 calories a day , I only burn 1790 calories if do not move much so if I did keep the IN ZONE level I will be over the budget . Right now I never go over 1500-1600 as I am not big eater in general , all I need is more exercise to speed up the metabolism  .

I think Charge 2 and Fitbit app is more to teach you how to do things right , and manage it , once you aware of what is going on you can go without all day long and use it to monitor your exercise time only .

I've not lost weight since using Fitbit (previously Fitbit One, now Charge 2) but it does help me to maintain a previous loss of 28 lbs., which I've maintained for 5 years now.  With Fitbit I am motivated to move more and I use the Food log to keep track of everything I eat/drink, so it helps me.  Also, the hourly reminders to move are very handy to make sure I keep up with the program.  Plus, I've picked up a new saying: "Easy Peasy"!  🙂

All good points, at least as far as the way my body works. I aslo have a mostly sitting job but do push myself to get up a few times a day and walk up 10-15 flights of stairs and walk 2 miles at lunch time if weather permits. I also belive\feel if I stay under the recomended Green zone of calories to eat I tend to lose a bit more weight. The biggest help I found for me is not to eat after 8pm +\- this does wonders the next morning when I step on the scale :-). I just recently purchased the Blaze and love to keep track of what I eat vs what I burn. -5lbs so far in the first month, 25 more to go.

Good Luck Everyone!

try intermediae fasting for 2 weeks,

then move on to one meal a day for a week or 2, having a cheat day maybe on the weekends

then the next week try fasting for a whole 24 hours,

then fast for 2 or 3 days out the week..

once you start fasting you will lose aobut 1-2 ls a day..

all those diets, weight loss supplements are out the door, fasting is the ultimate weight loss tool, and best of all its free and you actually have more time in your hands.

Best Answer

I don't recommend any type of fasting.  However, if you're going to try this please speak to your doctor first.

I am walking/jogging 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening. Controlled my diet. Have small portion of meals. Divide the big portion to small. It helped a lot to reduce weight !

After the very first day of having my fitbit I went from 130.6 to 128.6. I think thats mostly just from drinking more water. That stayed the same the next day and then this morning I weighed in at 129.2. I'm kind of upset because I've been following the 750 deficit really well but maybe my weight is just fluctuating because its the beginning.

All of your weight fluctuations are due to water and have nothing to do with actual weight changes; the fact is, the body cannot gain and lose actual weight that quickly.  As for looking at your weight, you must plot it over weeks and months to determine if you are being successful in losing weight.
