I'm a constant weigher. Every time I see the **ahem** scale I weigh myself...maybe up to 5 times a day. I understand that sometimes we retain water, have a semi-full bladder, or haven't had a BM in 2 days and all of these factors affect one's weight. I need to pick a day and time to weigh in and keep it to once a week. grrr....

I weigh in more than once a week but only worry about theTuesday number. It's a long fight with highs and lows but I have found if I give myself a break for a bad day and the week works out I can stay motivated for the next week.

I weigh in at least once a week! Too frustrating to do every day with the water weight and all.

I am also an everyday weigh in! But I also agree with those who mentioned a measurment tape!! I personally think I weigh WAY heavier then I look so the tape helps me see results as well. The tape also helps when you are putting on muscles mass..As we all know muscle weighs more then fat...so you very well could be losing while the scale is going up :). I weigh myself after I use the washroom and completely naked!! I know WAYYYY TO MUCH INFO!! lol I wish I could last an entire week without weighing myself because if you wait 7 days you may see a bigger number drop which would obviously be an amazing feeling. But I can't live with the fact that I might have gained a bunch of weight. I love knowing my daily progress...I do not log my weight everyday... I try to save that for sundays 🙂

I know how you feel however if you really watch what you eat and when you eat it and workout it will come off.
What I had to do was work out for 2 hours a day running on the elliptical (yes 2 hours) but it is working.
I burn 3200 calories a day (workout and BMR) and eat about 1500 cals per day. A deficit of roughly 1750 per day which equals about a 1/2 lbs weight loss on paper per day and I am loosing 2 to 4 lbs per week. but I’ve got a long way to go.
A funny thought for you....
My Hips aren’t going away anytime soon. I can’t help but hear them screaming at me back there.
( In case of a nuclear holocaust we've got your back) 😉

@ rickq
I was thinking about this last night while I was sitting in slow traffic on the freeway. I REALLY have to watch what I eat to end up with a deficit of 500 or more calories a day -- I burn a lot of calories by working out regularly, but have a tendency to think "it doesn't matter what I eat because I've just burned 900 calories at the gym" and then - through lack of monitoring - consume 1,200 or more calories in the form of snacks, nuts, beer, chips, more snacks!
Anyway, it dawned on me that I - like many people - imagine a deficit of 3,500 calories a week WILL automatically result in me being 1lb lighter. But on reflection, when I didn't watch what I was eating I easily generated a surplus of more than 3,500 calories a week! (Its scary how easy it is to rackup big numbers if you eat a lot of the wrong stuff - an extra 1,000 over BMR isn't difficult, a muffin in the morning (450) plus a mid-afternoon candy bar (350) plus some dessert and you are heading for 7,000 excess calories a week). So, for a long time my excess calories have been high, but each aliquot of 3,500 in excess clearly hasn't added 1lb to my weight -- otherwise I would have maxed out a lot heavier than I did.
Long to short story. I clearly didn't gain 1lb for every 3,500 excess calories I scoffed in the past. So I probably shouldn't expect to automatically shed 1lb for every 3,500 I'm in deficit now.

I tend to weigh in every day as well, keeps me a bit more accountable.

I wouldn't lose weight on 1500 calories a day either... but look at it this way, you've probably found your maintenance cals 😉
Try logging your food here and shoot for 5 snacks rather than meals. I lose on under 1000. See what you need.

I'm working with a nauropath on my weight loss resistance (autoimmune conditions) and started on a "paleo" based diet...so I am weighing daily to track the effectiveness (and it seems to have made the difference. That's the good news! The bad news is - no more gluten for me. Ever.)
When I'm not in obsession mode like this, I weight every few days. How often I weigh myself each week isn't as key as doing it at the same time (when I first wake up, after bathroom) and in the same body state (i.e. naked). I agree with those who suggest watching the long term trend rather than worrying about 1 -2 pound shifts from one day to the next...(although 2 days of 2 lb gain would set me to worrying!)
Do what feels right to you until and if it doesn't feel right anymore!

I can remember counting my WW points for years - and couldn't lose a pound for about 6 months - was tracking faithfully, etc. and paying the meeting fees week by week. Got the Fitbit and started walking - I mean walking big time and burning anywhere from 2,500 to 3,500 calories - this went on for months - I am 40 pounds thinner - took me a whole year - I still counted my WW points though! For me, it's getting my metabolism going - everyone is different - what's good for one person may not be good for someone else (I was not exercising enough)! Strange thing is that I, at the beginning, was losing big time inches, but the weight was only 2 pounds here and there. With the Fitbit and my treadmill - I went down two pants sizes within months. The Fitbit has made me aware of the inactiveness that was going on in my life - thank you Fitbit for making Kathy aware of her steps - I bet I only took 5,000 life steps a day before I bought Fitbit!

I space my food out really carefully so I am not hungry during the day. friend me to see my actual logs. I walk with my fitbit, I cut down on the crazy exercize because I believe it was keeping me from losing rather than helping. Turns out, I was right. I reached goal easily.

I like the aria scale, but to be honest, I wish I would have saved the money and just bought a regular digital scale. The body fat % measurement is completely bogus, I see fluctuations of 7-10% daily. While I didn't expect it to give me an accurate measurement, I was hoping for consistency.
Take that feature away and you've basically paid 130 dollars for a scale that uploads your weight to a site for you, which I am happy to take 5 seconds out of my day for and do on my own.
I would not suggest the scale to anyone that doesn't have money burning a hole in their pocket.

I thought about buying one..... but I'd only use it to record weight (the fat measurement is too unreliable on scales)..... but, after thinking about it I prefer having to input the reading manually. Having to type the number makes more impact on my conscious brain that just reading it. But, i can imagine there are many people in the opposite camp, and like having this kind of stuff done automatically.
