Hello I am new to fitbit and was wondering if parts of my dashboard and trainer are going to dissapear after this first week. So far I really like it and feel like its helping me. What is the difference between the regular and premium service and what has helped you reach your goals more effectively?

If you like numbers and trends Premium is helpful, and for only a cost of a cup of coffee each month it can be beneficial. If you click my Fitbit Profile the pictures from 10-14 inclusive are some of the graphical data.
Because I like my baselines and numbers, Premium is helpful for me to analyse where I have been, but that's the only system I know, because I signed up for Premium from the start of my Fitbit and have known nothing else. I get a benefit from downloading the daily data and doing forward projections on my steps to meet target goals. Provided you enjoy using spreadsheets.

As far as I know, you can try each of the premium services for 1 week, for free.
As for me, no, I didn't try but one of them. I'm the one that has to do the work in the end. Losing weight and/or getting fit is up to me, not a premium service. It could be useful if someone needs some extra motivation, perhaps. <shrug>

Thanks Colin,
I think I did the same thing and when I looked into it if I didnt pay the 50 bucks I would lose my reports. I like the ability to give reports to my doctor. I also like the idea of keeping them for myself with food and nutrition data.

I am considering signing up for premium also, i used my premium free trial a few years ago and don't remember what it was like. I wish I would have saved it, I am really looking for more motivation and I like the numbers.
I did just try the downloads this week as part of the premium trial (it must separate parts), the meal downloads I wasn't impressed with, I am going to tyr it again as a CSV to see if it is more useful.
I may purchase the premium this week though, still thinking......

I just bought the bullet and purchased premium... I will be blogging/vlogging about it soon.

I am quite upset that they introduce a 'premium' service for things that were previously free.
Shouldn't the purchase price of a fitbit be enough to cover that stuff. I feel nickel&dimed here..

You are obviously a fitbit evangelist... Right?

Me?
I guess, you could say that. I really love my fitbit. I agree though and think that premium shouldn't be, it should be included as part of the purchase. Or, provide some more really advanced reports. I do like what I am seeing on premium, I think 50 is stretching it for the valule though.
Just my thoughts.

why?
Just curious to know .......
I see it say something about Nutritionist.... but is that really just an electronic thing... you really don't get an actual nutritionist help do you?

I couldn't decide whether to purchase it or not. But when I noticed that in the exported reports that it breaks down the # of minutes you are sedentary, lightly active, very active....I was sold. I know that might seem like a small thing, but for me, I think it is going to be the inspiration I need to get up and get moving throughout the day. When you think about it, it winds up being less than one dollar a day. I think that is reasonable.

@mbailey18A good decision, I have used Premium for over 3 years and use the export feature like you have posted. Makes it easy to plan. One of my major goals is to make sure I hit my 10k daily step average on birthdays, Fitbit anniversary's, every 100 and 365 days etc. I also have those broken down into the last 3 months, 6 months, 1, 2 and 3 years. More data that offered in the Activity logs.
It also allows me to "see" what Friends see because your Lifetime Achievements don't include manual steps. So I get all of my active minutes, ratios etc. especially if you are into Spreadsheets.
The cost of 12 cups of coffee in Australia and now that our petrol has dropped in price I pay for it in 1.5 weeks of fuel savings.
A definite no brainer.
If you need help on other aspects of Premium don't hesitate to post.

Hi. Can you clear up a question for me? When the benefits page indicates 1 free report, does that mean 1 per week, month , or what ? Thanks
The free report is for the trial. The full version of Premium gives you access to weekly reports up back all the way to when you first started using Fitbit (even before getting Premium). I have been using Fitbit for 4 months and had access to 16 reports for those 4 months once I bought Premium (during Trial I only had access to that week's report)

It is the same except that in the full Premium you have access to all the reports back from when you first started Fitbit.

I like the idea of exportable reports and you are locked out from uploading new pictures without the premium, but I'll be **ahem**ed if I'm going to pay that much for for those options alone.
