January 2017 Step Goal Challenge.

ANSWERED

Well, back again for the New Year!!!!

-This challenge doesn't have anything to do with USW, CW, GW, UGW, or PW.

-Instead, the goal is reach the most amount of daily step goals during the month January-2017.  Challenge yourself to hit 31 out of 31 days. Increasing the # of daily checkins increases the chances of achieving 31/31 days. If you discover this mid month, no problem just post away.

-In addition to steps, I thought it would be interesting to add a calories burned  goal as well.

Posting format:

1) List your daily step goal

2)  List the # of daily step goals achieved during January-2017

                  ------------------------------------------------------------------------

                                                           31

3) List your daily burned calorie goal.(Optional)

4) List the # of daily burned calorie goals achieved during January 2017 (Optional)

                  ------------------------------------------------------------------------

                                                           31

Good Luck everyone, all the best for 2017

@Skullclutter  congrats on the treadmill routine. I picked up a used one and find it nice to get the steps in when the weather is not behaving.

15,000 steps |  4000 calories

16/31             |  11/31

Should have checked my calories before going to bed last night.  I could have probably hit the 4000 (was close enough, but didn't).  Managed to hit it today though.

Had a huge headache and had trouble keeping my eyes open yesterday, so I took some tylenol and went to bed early. I also overate, so the fact that I even managed to hit my calorie burn target is a huge surprise.

7.3K steps, 2.3K calories.

Step Goal: 8000  > 12/31

Calorie Goal: 2300 > 13/31

@almost_whereI recently moved in with my fiancee who has one. It's old but it works. I've been working on C25K pretty much exclusively on a treadmill.

Headed into town with about 50 calories left to eat for the day (ate a massive breakfast), half way through my walk I smell garlic in the cold air coming from an Italian restaurant.

Note to self: Avoid walking past that restaurant period.

Another close call yesterday but I hit my goals. I'm going to add today, too, because I already creamed my step goal and unless I croak in the next hour I'll hit my calorie burn goal. These running days are generally a sure thing. Too bad, my legs won't let me run consecutive days anymore.

I am new to the community chat seen your post looking for advise on my workout...I just got back into it and been walking on my treadmill. Can you share your workout? Inspired me with you weight loss Thank You

My workout & weight loss is pretty simple:
Eat half,
Exercise double,
Laugh triple!

For exercise I walk 5 to 8 miles a day, some of it is a dedicated walk of 3
to 6 miles, the rest of the mileage comes from living on a small acreage.
My step count goal is 10,000 a day and I beat that 5 - 7 days a week. I had
to go to two outside malls to shop this week. I parked at the far end and
walked to the store, then walked all the way around to get back to my car.
Take stairs, not elevators. If you go to a big store like Wal Mart make
yourself walk at least one entire lap around the store before you shop. On
the way home from shopping we spotted a small park by the river, so my wife
and I got out and walked about 2000 steps. Nice break from a long drive.

Track your food intake on fitbit and keep your input below your calories.
Fitbit tells you where you are. I don't eat any junk food, soda/pop, and
for dairy only eat plain yogurt & light sour cream. Avoid processed foods
like frozen dinners. Being a vegetarian it is easier for me to avoid fatty
and processed foods. Some meals are nothing but rice, steamed carrots, kale
or broccoli. You can really stuff yourself with vegetable. Oatmeal w/fruit
or a boiled egg on toast for breakfast. Avoid white bread, rolls.

Don't expect immediate results. I've lost 24 lbs since April, 10 of them
since August. Also, treat yourself once in a while. If you go shopping,
have a nice lunch (avoid fast foods) in a sit down restaurant. I have some
dark chocolate every day.

Most of all find something to laugh out loud about several times a day!
Have fun exercising!

Thank you so much for sharing all the information...I better get my butt moving lol right now only walking on my treadmill 2 miles a day and watching what I eat. You definitely inspire me that is amazing congrats on your weight loss and all your hard work.....

Good luck!

BTW, one trick my wife uses to keep moving is to make sure she moves every hour, her fitbit tells her when she needs steps. So she gets up and walks around the house if she has to get the steps she needs. If you work you should be able to do the same.
