How It Works:
The purpose of this challenge is to keep track of your daily step goals for July 2017. This is not a competition to see who can do the most amount of steps, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency . So whether you do 100,1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of 31 for the month can you hit your goal.
Some of you might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and some might have a variable goal throughout the week, for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = 6k steps a day
Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for this challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.
Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 31.
Optional
3) Post either your constant or variable (anything you want) goal.
4) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 31.
Oddly enough, the optional items keep growing, that's why I changed the title slightly. In the end it's about setting goals and improving habits. So the optional items can really be anything. Running, biking, weight lifting, food goals, etc. Some will add a goal that is not daily - ie. wanting to do so many strength training workouts in the month - so you would be aiming for a number not necessarily out of 31. Really, it's just completely open.
Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and decide scale back the number of steps due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your daily step goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

Given the need for rest days in between, I won't get the original lifting days goal this month, but 14 every month (what I did the past two months) is probably too high anyway, especially with daily push ups. Sometimes I need to remind myself that you need rest and recovery for strength training to work all its magic.

I met most of my goals for Friday, yesterday, and today, but not in the normal order. I adjusted for my grandson, but I got most of it in. I missed my step goal Friday, though.

15/31 10,000 steps +
15/31 Thirty+ daily minutes of activity
I'm dropping my fruit and veggie goal. I'm just too tired to do the math involved. lol Or lazy.
My fitbit glitched twice, once it lost that I had hit my 10,000 steps and somehow shows less than 10,000. Not sure what happened, I made sure I had it before I went to bed, but, maybe it didn't sync correctly? Same thing happened with one of my thirty daily minutes of activity. In the app it shows I did it, on the web dashboard it shows I missed it. I'm not going to worry about it.
I've had a bunch of lab work and an ultrasound and an MRI this past week, waiting on results. I'm pretty sure I ate very close to maintenance for a lot of last week. I'm really impressed with how close it is. I ate at a deficit again yesterday and was right back to my lowest weight from last week. Pretty cool really.
I'm really pleased that I can take a few days off from my deficit, eat around maintenance and not regain a bunch of weight. I guess losing it a bit slower has some serious advantages. I'm so close to a couple landmarks. I'm only about 1 lb away from having lost 10% of my body weight and only 2.6 lbs away from being 25% through my weight loss goal. I was going to take a longer break at maintenance, but that week with a few days off felt like enough of a break for now. I'd like to hit those two landmarks and then I'll eat a couple weeks at maintenance.

Had a good week getting back on track. I lost 8 out of the 9 pounds gained from my July 4th food binge massacre. Adjusting my burn goal to the original fitbit deficit vs my original chart burn seems more realistic at this point

Pretty good step day yesterday. I was prompted to take a late walk because I was getting toward the end of a long podcast "the Destroyer of Worlds" from Dan Carlin's Hardcore History.

Day 14, 15, 16. Hasn't been good at all. Missed all three days in achieving the goals. I thought I hit the reset button. Looks like not hard enough. My slump continues. I do not have any motivation to do so. I am doing this just for my own health. I am not trying to lose weight. So let's hope this week is a good one...
1) 13k 10K steps - 12/16
2) Run - 3/9
3) Plank (60 secs +) - 13/16
4) Push up - 13/16
I am dropping my step goal to 10 k. Hope I will be on track soon.

I met my workout goal yesterday, but missed my step goal by just a couple hundred steps. I should have gotten out of bed and done a few laps around my house, but I was too lazy. Sigh...
