AWood,

Good for you! It's a great moment moving down off that plateau.

Keep it up.

I take at least one walk during the day and try to stay on the phone with the hubby the whole time. He can tell by my breathing if I'm going uphill or struggling.  LOL

There's a mail box on the corner and I remember driving to it. Now I walk to it and back easily and then think 'where else can I walk?' because that walk isn't really enough.  I figure if I can go one more step today than I did yesterday I'm doing ok.

After my first three weeks and 9 lbs, I thought I had this in the bag in trying to lose 20.  Stalled out for 10 days at 151.5-149.5.  It was frustrating seeing as how the first 9 came off with some work, but I was willing to do it.  I average 16,000 steps a day or over 6 miles.  I live in the foothills so it is a lot of up and down.  Watched my calories and still nothing.  Today was a big YAY when the needle finally moved to 147.5.  I hope it continues.  Keep after it and it  will happen!

Awwww thank you @Bobbinyc!!

Believe me, I am struggling often enough with self appreciation and the confidence that I can do this or that. There is a good reason why I am on 2 different Antidepressants and an anxiety med. But in the end I always try to remember "it's one day at a time". Just one day. I can do one more day.I can do one more yoga class. I can do one more.... whatever!

And the other thing that keeps me going is the thought that "I should treat myself as good as I would a best friend". We often forget that and expect way more of ourselves than of others. Or we are more critical with ourselves than with others. But if I want to live a happy and fullfilling life for a few more years then I MUST treat myself with the same respect, care and compassion as I would treat my best friend.

Geee.... I sound like my therapist LOL

Congrats!

I'm like you.  I get on the scale first thing in the morning every day.  I just need to see the numbers...good, bad or indifferent.

I'm a little worried right about now though.  I spent last week adding weight and that put me a week behind on my Labor Day Goal.  I have 10 pounds to drop between now and Labor Day.

Good Luck everyone.  Let's get it done.

Yes you are completely right. My doctor is "speeding things up quite a bit".... we both talked about phasing out slower, but since I am already off one med and want to get on with the next option, it is either "going slow and possibly being a crying mess for weeks" or "going quickly, feeling rotten, but starting a new med that may work better within the next 10 days".

Well.... it's a tough decision cause last week was hell. Then again coming off Wellbutrin is supposed to be a bit easier than coming off Trintellix. I will know by Monday I suppose 🙂

Trintellix gave me mostly physical symptoms. Wellbutrin apparently gives you more psychological symptoms. Now... given that I know both well - they can both just be awful.

It's really really really nice though, that I can write about this here and have a place where I am heard and people who care. That's half the battle. (Teehee... I am already getting a bit teary, so wait another few days... I'll be all sobby and emotional... )

Now the good thing is, that my prescription for this week (being off work) is "sitting in the sun, taking walks, socialising and doing only nice, fun things".

I can do that. Shower is next and then I'll go to my local yarn store. That's always lovely.

O.k. guys - love you tons!

Have a great day!

Teeeheeeee Bank accounts!! I love that! I should be stick thin! LOL

But honestly yes - everybody has to work on their own mat, body and bank account! And your hubby and you doing the treadmill while watching TV is a GREAT idea!!! Also keeps the hands away from snacks I assume!

You go girl!!! You are strong! You are worth it! You can do it!

Congrats.  I encourage you to keep working and stay positive.  The weight will come off and you will be so proud of yourself for the work you've done to get where you want to be.

Keep it up, you are so strong! Just remember that.  You can do it 🙂

I always think of my what my great grandmother always said even at 93 years old.....

"I am too strong to fail, I'm going to keep kicking life in the butt and show him who is boss" lol

Mermaid, you are very wise. Sometimes self-appreciation isn't something we feel, but a set of habits we develop. We have to just keep acting on our own behalf, and then we feel it more.

Love your grandma's attitude. We are kicking this extra weight in the butt. Yes, indeed, we are leaving it behind.

Stay strong,

Thanks for the support. Pavers are 20 lbs each and frankly I stacked near the driveway and someone younger and stronger will carry them further as I'm protecting my right shoulder which is on the mend.

Accepting some limitations has been a struggle for me but it is necessary to heal.  My physical therapist told me I need to take a day off due to shin splints so I sat a lot on Sunday and just took a short walk at sunset. It is hard not to make 10k steps but it helped that darned pain lessen so it was worth it.  I'm elevating and icing my shin if it hurt after dancing now and I think it is improving.

Well, let's keep on keeping on standing tall and choosing health.

Mermaid,

What in the world is your MD thinking stopping your antidepressants suddenly. Not standard practice around here. Why make your body suffer so with flu like symptoms when it is not necessary. Wait did you have Serotonin discontinutation syndrome or a toxic reaction to too much serotonin call Serotonin Syndrome?

Anyway sorry that you had to suffer and hope that you are ok now.    I'm certainly not a doctor but inform yourself as doctors range from great to not so good at all like mechanics and hair dressers unfortunately. Read about the medication before you take it and decide for yourself.

Hope you feel better. Happy yoga.

Started a new diet last week, called State of Slim, it seems to work for me, I've been eating much healthier and I'm feeling better about making some lasting changes and getting this extra weight OFF!  FINALLY broke out of the 160s!!! SEE YA!!! Good riddance 160s, I NEVER want to see you again, I am officially breaking up with the 160s.  Next on my eye is the 140s, here I come.  Not sure if it will happen by Labor Day, but I'm going to work my darn tootingest 😉
