Labor Day Challenge 2015

Hello and welcome to the Labor Day Challenge 2015. 

 

We welcome all newbies and the awesome achievers from our 4th of July Challenge. 

This new challenge starts on July 5th and ends on Labor Day, Sept 7th.  So please feel free to post your Labor Day weight loss goals here and we'll be sure to provide lots of encourgament and support along the way.  I've listed my goals below.  Hoping to ready for my Labor Day Disney vacation.  For the newbies, here is a short key: SW = Starting Weight, CW = Current Weight, GW = Goal Weight, UGW = Ultimate Goal Weight.

 

SW: 200 (Jan 5)

CW: 173.3

GW: 159 (Labor Day)

UGW: 150 (Oct 13th, Wedding Anniversary!)

@awood08  Congrats on the improved speed and running ability.  To me, that is what this is really about - increasing our health, feeling better, having more energy, and getting our bodies to be able to do more with greater ease.  You are doing our heart, lungs, brain, etc a world of good.  That makes all the difference in the quality of your health and engagement in an active life.  Great job!

Or right away even workout together following the same pilates and yoga training online! Cause I sure need a kick in the bum myself to get my daily work out in!

sounds like a lot of folks are doing really well, that's great! I have been having a hard time with my knees lately, def. not g oing to make my overachieving goal 😉 I got some gel inserts for my shoes yesterday and that did help. I haven't met my weight goal...not even close...but my clothes...oh boy, shopping my closet is THE BEST. I will be leaving on the 12th for my anniversary cruise and wearing a band new Marchesa gown about 6 sizes smaller than my largest size pre weight loss! I also have set aside lots of things I couldnt wear for EVER. Best, the pants, I mean dresses are good..but fitting into pants generally is harder for me..here I am all zippin these bad boys up and stuff! Ill post my weight on Monday, want every successful day to count 😉 keep on keepin on folks 🙂

Hi everybody 

REal quick check in bouncing from 136-137 but 2 more days to go. Going to be good at party this afternoon I pray. Don't want to fast on Sunday. I'm good if I make 136 lbs since at 5'7" that ain't too plump. 

Stay strong these last couple of days. Congrats to all who are getting healthier. Thanks for the supportive posts, as they are uplifting to read. What a great group of people we have gathered.  I'm going with you to Halloween even if I'm basically on maintence of weight just because you are such a kind group. 

I'll come back on Monday.

Barbara - you better come to Halloween!  We need you!  Besides, I want to cheer you on maintenance, which is not always easy.  Well, I also want to hear about the dancing.  I'm living out my dance fantasies through you.

And like I always say, one pound here or there means nothing.  It isn't fat and doesn't effect your health.  It will come off, just not on demand.  Some people struggle with the last ten, leave it to you to kill the last 9 and struggle with the last 1.  Enjoy the party.

Congrats on fitting into your new and older clothes. Isn't it fun to zip up those pants that didn't fit. Any a new gown to wear on your anniversary. And do you and hubbie dance as the orchestra plays? 

One thing I hear about cruises is the food is more than ample.  Happy cruising.

One more day to go until we finish our challenge so let's see how far we get

I overdid it at a very long wedding.  All the dancing I did all night didn't make up for the food, which was good and obscene in quantity.  I made decent choices, but ate the dessert, which I have not done in a long time.  Also ate red meat, which I stopped doing awhile ago.  Nice to notice that things that tasted so good could leave me feeling yucky the next day.  

Today I went for a really long, fast walk, drank lots of water, and ate just healthy food.  I wasn't even hungry today.

I'm not weighing myself until tomorrow morning, see how it goes.

Hope everyone is doing well this weekend.

I notice when I have that moment of weakness and eat something unhealthy, it always catches up to me. Today was mine, we had Steak N Shake and I gave in. Well fast forward 4 hours later I feel like crap 😞

 

Hopefully all that excercise and water intake will flush your system. I hope tomorrow you have a good number on the scale 🙂

I too ate dessert and corn chips, bread, etc.. at my son's party .  Darn it  as I got raging munchies last night, but I'm back to being more mindful today. If I'm careful for the rest of the day and night I'll be home in the AM to weigh in. 

Need to get in a walk or dancing before it is too late. 

Be good tonight as it is weigh in time tomorrow.

Although i don't get on here a lot , i am reading and applauding your updates , everyone is doing fantastic i must say. Now for the down and dirty numbers for me ( although i did make my original goal , i was slightly shy of the revised one , had a couple of glitches along the way )

 

SW ( July 17 , i think lol ) 175

CW -152.5

Orig GW - 155

Revised GW - 148

Net loss - 22.5 pounds:)

 

Looking forward to seeing how we've all done

@ Barb,

Congrats on your son's birthday.  I always thought birthdays should be celebrations for the mom too.

Those munchies can be killer - believe me I know.  For some reason, having a smoothie with a protein base, like yogurt and almond milk, seems to help me.  Sometimes I make a thick cold soup that way and top with a few nuts for some crunch - seems to get rid of the munchies for a time and I can control what veggies or berries I put in.  

What is happening for your dance competition?  (sorry if I'm being nosy, but I find that so exciting)

Below was my post from 6/27/215 in the 4th of July weight loss challenge.  I didn't make the 4th of July goal and forgot to post in the Labor Day challenge, so I just pasted my post here.   Well, I weighed in this morning and came in at 170!  Hit the goal by 5 lbs!  I'm so happy and proud!  

 

 

Started with the FitBit Charge HR in February and it's amazing to me how this little wristband helped motivate me.
