Looking for Weight Loss Buddies/Support!

ANSWERED

Hi I am new to Fitbit and the community. My dear husband got my my fitbit as a Christmas gift and am really excited about beginning this transformation into a new healthier lifestyle! I am 46 years old and after years of yoyo dieting and losing 100 lbs only to gain it all back, I had a major roadblock put up 5 years ago and have been stuck at 275 lbs since. I was diagnosed with several back issues, declared physically disabled by my doctors and was put on 360 percocet a month. In 2012, I moved to Ohio, weaned myself off all the meds my Texas drs had me on and thought I would just lose weight. I am physically active, but not quite enough yet to lose the amount of weight I need to lose. But I am determined to do this! On April 30 I will be in Washington DC participating in a 2 day 39 mile walk for breast cancer (a cause that is near and dear to my heart). So the time is now! No more excuses, no more laziness! Who's with me?

Good morning!! Just doing my weekly check in! It's a bit brisk here at -42 degrees Celsius the last couple of days ...so I needed to give myself a HUGE pep talk to get out the door to the gym this morning!! But I did it! Since starting January 1st  I have been completely committed to the gym and to eating clean and I feel absolutely amazing!! An added bonus to this..my clothes are fitting loose.. I've moved a notch in my belt..and the scale is treating me VERY well!! Along with this ,,brain fog is gone, joints are not aching, and I have so much more energy through the day...For me, getting rid of sugar is the best thing I have done! It truly wreaked havoc in so many aspects of my general health!!

Have a wonderful Sunday my friends! And here is to a super week ahead!!

I have been fitbitting for five weeks now and I feel so much better. I have lost almost 2kgs and I have more energy. Watching the calories and the composition of my food has made me made better food choices. This weeks suprise was the amount of calories in sausages. When I compared how much chicken I could eat in place of one sausage, I removed sausages from my food choices. My house is seeing the benefits too. I am cleaning like a mad woman to get activity points up. I am quite large so I struggle with huge amounts of steps as it hurts my back. I am looking forward to being able to walk my dogs for a couple of hours without any pain.

Dance. Smile. Giggle. Marvel. TRUST. HOPE. LOVE. WISH. BELIEVE. Most of all, enjoy every moment of the journey, and appreciate where you are at this moment instead of focusing on how far you have to go.

I'd love to join.

Have been fitbitting for four weeks.

I don't have a ton to lose as I'm a very clean eater but found I just could not drop weight anymore.

In walks my fit bit and I've come to the realization that if I don't walk...I don't lose.   Cant' stress excersize enough.   I've lost about 6 lbs over last month....... 12 lbs to go.   clothes are getting baggy and I feel great.  walk morning and afternoon.   average 13,000 steps /day easily.   break it down into two walks.  log all my food.   very happy with this devic.  keeps me acountable.   good luck all........it's not that hard.  takes three weeks to break a bad habit. and start a healthy one.........then its easy.  😉

Toko,

I agree.  The more I walk the better I feel and I lose more.  Tracking your food intake is very important as well.  We don't realize how much we eat until we see it in writing.  This is my fourth week tracking and walking.  What a difference!!!   Being honest about what you are eating makes you want to eat right.  Good luck!!!  We can do this!!!

If you feel weak, you're not eating enough.  I eat mostly vegetables, fruit, chicken or some other protein.  I do eat carbs as well.  I know...everyone is screaming CARBS...yes, carbs.  Not refined white flour or sugar, but complex carbohydrates...and not in big quantities.  Measure your food and figure your caloric intake either with the Fitbit food log or check out MFP (MyFitnessPal.com).   You should feel better and full enough to finish your workout and your day comfortably.  I hope this helps you.

Hi all! I love that this group is up here! I am really in need of support to get myself moving again. I have been hooked on the Fitbit since I got it back in November 2015, but have found myself needing a little more motivation to get moving. Not only that, but I need to get the scale moving (down not up)! Any support would be GREATLY appreciated. Feel free to add me on Fitbit. I love entering challenges to keep me going. I can't wait to connect and motivate each other!

Hi TashaMac,

You can do this.  We all need a little support now and then to keep us going.  Get back on the band wagon and start walking.  I'm talking to myself too.  Today I'm just exhausted, but I have to get in my 10,000 before I go to sleep.  Reading your post is motivating me to get up.  Hope this helps you.  Wishing you the best.
