Looking for a Fitbit Friend?

Look no further!

So here's my story,

My name is Yvie, I'm a 28 year old lady living in Arizona, I work in an office and I'm trying to lose some weight... Again.

About 4 years ago, I lost like 65 pounds through proper diet and exercise! At my heaviest I was just shy of 230 lbs, but at my skinniest, I was at 165! No small feat I assure you. Then about 2 years ago, I met an amazing man! And we went out on dates to dinners and movies and metal shows, so I ate more and exercised less, since I was spending more time with him. Soon I found myself back up to 175... 180... 185... Then I left the fast paced salon for an office position which keeps me tethered to a desk, and I hit 200... 201.... 203..... 205.

Something had to give. So I made a resolution at the start of the year that I was going to lose some weight!! Clearly I was going to need my amazing man on board for this. He was never UNsupportive, but I didn't want to compromise all of my time with him to work out. I want him to be happy and healthy with me! Besides, what's more fun than taking a walk up a mountain with the man you a love?

Now here's what you have to understand about my amazing man: he doesn't love all change. Especially when that change is to how his time is spent.

So after much begging, and pleading, and a number of sporadic hikes here and there, I felt like I was hitting a brick wall. Why wouldn't he just hike with me? Or go to the gym? Or ANYTHING fitness related with me? And then I realized, he was already at a lower weight than myself, and felt less motivated. So I did what any fed-up and spiteful girlfriend would; I stopped portion controlling his meals to ensure he didn't over eat and made more decadent food. Good thing the man LOVES rice. Mwahahaha!

He gained a few pounds, and now we spend every Sunday hiking and we go for walks a few times a week, and motivate each other to maintain a healthy diet throughout the day and to try and stay active. But the reality is we're still at different fitness levels and have different ways of staying motivated.

I got myself the fitbit Alta on an impulse when I saw an ad in Women's Health. I had been wanting a Fitbit for quite some time, but working in the service industry didn't leave me enough disposal income to make that kind of purchase comfortably. So after losing a few pounds and hitting a bit of a plateau, when I saw how pretty and sleek it was with that cute flower, and I got it! And I love it! I over came my plateau, and have dropped to 191 lbs.

But my amazing man doesn't have one, at least not yet, and I really want to do challenges and competitions with friends! It just seems like a fun way to keep motivated!

So, will you be my Fitbit friend? If so, what's you're story?

Hey hey hey @YvieQwin welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂 I love your story! Thank you for taking the time to share it with us! As @emili stated, you can use that link to find more friends. Personally I spend a lot of time on the gym and the walking activity that I perform is on the treadmill. But when I can, I love hiking volcanoes with my lovely wife and dog.

Keep up the good work! Have a wonderful day!

I am starting my weight loss jouney of almost 50 pounds tomorrow.  I am a mom of 2 boys and really hope to be there for them as long as I possibly can, but my weight is going in the wrong direction to do that.  I now weigh more than ever, even when 9 months pregnant, but am hoping to get it under control before it gets any worse.  I have lost 30 pounds before with the help/motivation of a fitness tracker, but have had a kid and a bad birth control plan afterward that left me with now 50 to lose this time around.  I know I can do this since I've done that weight loss before, but 50 pounds is seeming very different than my 30 I had last time.  I've lost 6 pounds on my own now with 48 to go.  I'm prior military and am hoping to back into shape like I was before.  I could use a fitbit friend for more motivation as well.  Good luck to you!  Fingers crossed!

Hi. Im a college senior and ive been slowly packing the pounds from over eating due to college stress/anxiety. I went from 168 to 191 in 3 years. Now that i have the charge hr im making every effort to get back down to 165 or even lower than before. So yeah. Could we be fitbit friends?

Hey, I just got a fitbit blaze. I don't really know other people with fitbit, found two people through Facebook contacts. My husband is also unmotivated to join me on my journey. He isn't overweight either. Kind of wish he was so we could work together! He is supportive however. I am 12 stone 11 lbs at the moment, hoping to lose a further 2 stone. I have already lost nearly 2 stone with myfitness pal. Shame I'm going to start using the fitbit calorie database as myfitnesspal was my go to app for a long time. I am not very fit at the moment but hoping to change that!

Reading this story reminds me so much of myself! At my highest I was 238, and then I lost 50 lbs and was down to 188. I met a new girl, and then happened to get too comfortable and gain a little bit of weight. I was at 200 lbs as of yesterday, and something needs to change. I am totally down to be friends!

i love your story Yvie 😉

My name is Toon. i'm Thai. my weight is 119lbs but height only 5.1ft

Last 2 year when i changed my food..my weight only 103lbs.

but feel not healthy...and start to ate a lot after break up with my bf.

i want to back to that weight again.

i try to go to gym...but mostly end up sitting in my room watching soap.

After i bought fitbit last month i found i have more self-control to go to gym.

i track everything i ate and how much calories i use everyday.

and it would be more fun if i have friends to walk the same journey and motivate each other.

Dont hesitate to add me 😉
