New Years to Valentine's Day 2016 Challenge

Welcome to the New Year Everyone! This will start January 1, 2016 officially 🙂

If you have seen the posts before this is a challenge that everyone is invited to join to set your own personal weight loss goal for the next 6 weeks. This is all about having a great support system and most importantly feeling great and happy and healthy about yourself. Don't worry if you have bad weeks because we all go through it.

To join the challenge all you need to do is post your weight stats & check in as often as you'd like with an update or just to share a story from your week. This group has some huge inspiration in it and people that give wonderful advice.

Looking forward to catching up with all our friends from the other challenges and anyone who is new!

Checking in again, a little early, but I'm excited about a small loss.  Finally got below 157.2!  I had logged that weight on Fitbit on Dec. 14.  Anyway, I feel like I'm moving back in the right direction again.   (And sooo close to 10% weight loss now.)   My daughter went back to college on Friday and I take my son back today.  It will be lonely, but should help my diet.

Ok so being sick has not been all bad. No exercise but I did loose weight just because I don't have an appetite.

Hey all!

New to the FB Community. A bit late to start this, but I am still hoping to shed some pounds in the coming weeks.

Hi everyone, I am not weighing in this week because it is that lovely time of month, and even though I know it shouldn't I have a tendency to let that number get to me. I have not been totally on track, but have have gotten my workout in for the last 2 day which is a HUGE struggle for me, so I am going to celebrate a small victory! Hope everyone has a good week!

Hi all! Smiley Happy

Hope you're having good weekends, we had family round for some early birthday celebrations for me & then been for my first 10km run in prep for a charity run I am taking part in on the 7th of Feb & enjoyed a nice walk into town with my other half. So all in all (apart from the miserable weather), it's been a lovely weekend.

As far as my weight goes it is another week of maintaining, which is a bit frustrating but still viewing it as a positive & looked back at old pics of myself & my husband from a year ago & it's encouraging to see the difference.

@ Saraj91 -- Maintaining is frustrating for sure. But I'm looking at your stats and think they are fantastic! What a great year you had to go from 186 to 136. That is awesome.

I gained 30 lbs last year... and trying to get it to shift but I can't seem to get my head in the game. I want to go from 176 to 145 and it seems impossible. But, you've given me a burst of hope!

@ca-north Thank you so much, that is very kind of you to say Smiley Happy

It's challenging, but not impossible, you can totally do it! Smiley Happy

Christmas & new year is tough but this group discussion is a great way of keeping in check & sharing stories. I'm quite lucky in that I'm off on holiday in a few weeks so that was a good date for me to keep in mind when I started this. A good long term goal to aim for. Hope you have a good week!

Hey Helen,

Congrats!  I'm so glad for you.  (Ignore the funny face I sent accidently on the friends step ranking -- pressed a button to see what it was).

I'm not logging weight today -- have the same stomach bug I had in November (doctor said it might come back) and had a super-carbed day, since that's all that seemed appetizing.  But I need to check in to get myself back on track -- so I don't turn a bad day into a bad week.  Just synced my fitbit for the firs time since Friday.  Now I'm writing to you.  Committing to syncing and checking the comments tomorrow and logging my food -- even if I'm still under the weather.

Hope all is well and congratulations again!!!

Thanks Diane!  I was looking for you to post.   Sorry about the stomach bug.  Yuck! Hang in there with this diet thing.  I'm struggling to get back into the swing of things too.  This forum is a big help; I might have thrown in the towell with out it.  We'll both get there!

Wow today I weighed myself and in the last week being really careful with all parts of the dash board I have lost 2.1 kilos this week. I feel inspired but have a long way to go. Thank you for all of your support. Have a great week everyone. The area where I let myself down is in the steps I only seem to be able to reach 5000 per day. Saying this I have now started swiming and dancing once a week

It is so important to know yourself isnt ?

a new year,

Don't feel bad about the steps, most days I don't get to 5,000 even. I have to drive somewhere to have room to exercise and when the weather is bad I don't go anywhere. I haven't left the house since last Wednesday so I'm not getting many steps. I do Pilates and yoga stretches and whatever I can. I believe that I can lose the weight that I need to lose even though I've only lost 5 pounds in the past 6 months. Exercising is building muscle and making me smaller so that gives me enough hope to keep going. Never give up hope!!

I can't remember what I put for my first post and I can't find it, but I do know what I weighed last Sunday.  It wasn't a great week but it could've been worse, too. I know I'm gaining muscle because I measure myself, but weight loss seems very hard to get for me (only 5 pounds in a year???). Not sure why.  In Sept. I started putting in each meal I ate religiously, and have it set to tell me how many calories I can eat each day. I'm generally under 1200 in my calories except for a few days here and there. I figure I'll just keep watching what I eat and exercising as much as I can and sooner or later the weight has to go away!

Thanks for getting that group started & posting it Rob! 🙂

Happy Monday to everybody! Hope you all had a great weekend, and your week is starting off well!

I enjoyed my birthday last week, a little too much in fact between the cake & birthday dinners out. I'm up a few pounds but treating yourself and rewarding yourself is a great thing when loosing weight in my opinion. It has kept me on track better than saying "NO" to the things I enjoy, just moderation & portions are important.

Good news....I've been putting off buying new clothes until I was closer to my goal weight, well I can't stand the baggy pants anymore so I went shopping Sunday. I was a size 18/19 when I started. I was down to a 14 most recently (luckily my sister gave me a ton of her clothes to hold me off) but those are the clothes that were getting baggy. So I grabbed a 10 and 12 to see what I could squeeze into. Tried on the 12's, too baggy still...put on the 10's....very tight but I could fit....so I grabbed a pair of 10 jeans that were stretch to give me a little more room. Turns out the 10 I tried on before that were very tight, were actually an 8!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I literally jumped up and down and squealed in the dressing room! lol I haven't been a size 10 or 8 since probably elementary school. This is a huge motivator for me!
