New Years to Valentine's Day 2016 Challenge

Welcome to the New Year Everyone! This will start January 1, 2016 officially 🙂

 

If you have seen the posts before this is a challenge that everyone is invited to join to set your own personal weight loss goal for the next 6 weeks. This is all about having a great support system and most importantly feeling great and happy and healthy about yourself. Don't worry if you have bad weeks because we all go through it.

 

To join the challenge all you need to do is post your weight stats & check in as often as you'd like with an update or just to share a story from your week. This group has some huge inspiration in it and people that give wonderful advice.


Looking forward to catching up with all our friends from the other challenges and anyone who is new!

Finally today I managed to do 10,000 steps. I went dancing which was fun when I got there.

Thanks for the encouragement, Helen,  It really helps at the moment. I've walked over 7,000 steps so far today but am feeling so ugghy.  Anyway, it's good to feel your support on a day like today.

Checking in early this week...  I am quite excited... will check in again on Friday too - just to see if the trend keeps up!  I can hear the nutritionists on here passing out over what I have started doing, but it appears to be working!  I no longer eat breakfast.  I drink my normal 2 cups (16 oz each) of coffee with about 1 tsp of sugar & cream each which curbs my hunger until almost lunch time.  I eat a good healthy lunch & then a light supper.  I have an afternoon snack of fruit or raw veggies with just a little dipping sauce if I get hungry before supper...  and here are the results since Friday last week...  I'm one pound heavier now than I was going into the Christmas holidays.  Down 3 since Friday.

More than 1/2 way there. 

 

Battling broncitus the last 4 days, so my steps are way down (apologies to my "Get Active and Lose Weight" Group!). But, I was able to get 8K steps in this morning for a walking workout.

 

I still have to lose about 2lbs a week to make the goal. 

 

I had two friends join me in the early morning workout......having workout buddies makes me a lot more accountable about showing up!

I am just joining in. I have been trying to lose weight for awhile and my weight keeps fluctuating. Then the last couple of months I have only been gaining weight.

I'm still at my daughter's in Wyoming, but I'll be heading home in about two weeks (after being here almost 7 weeks total).  I've been dog sitting while the family is on a special vacation--in New Zealand!

 

It's been fun but not very helpful to my weight-loss efforts.  I was starting to improve last week, but this week has been a wash.  I've even put that pound back on that stalks me  On Off On Off.  And as a couple of you have mentioned before, my daughter's scale is not always consistent.  I can get on and off 4-5 times and get a different number every time!  So I'm going with the higher number, just to be safe.  

 

I'm grateful that I have not had the yukky flu, as with many of you, and I am wishing all you "poooooor babies!" speedy recoveries!

Hello All,

 

I would like to join your challenge. I'm new to the Fitbit world and so far I love it (started on Dec 26th). I started my weight loss journey on October 12, 2015. My three month mark was yesterday and so far I have lost 35 lbs. I did this by making major changes in what I eat and incorporated exercise into my life.

 

USW- 175 lbs on 01/01/16

CSW- 170 lbs as of today

GW- 165 lbs by 02/14 Valentines Day 

UGW- 135 lbs

PW- 205 lbs starting weight in October 2015

CW- 170 lbs

Hello, everyone! Just checking in to report that I lost 2.5 lb since I joined (1/7/16), and 6 lb total since 1/4/16. At that time I weighed 183.5 lbs. At the time I joined this challenge,

My SW was 180, and

My CW is 177.5 

My GW is 171 by Valentine Day.

My UGW is 165.

 

If things continue this way, I may be able to beat my Valentine goal. FitBit helps me stay on the goal. 

Keep it up, every one. It is possible.

Jacqueline -- Do what Helen says.  Just go with the lowest number, it's every bit as likely to be right as the highest one.  For what it's worth I always find myself more motivated when I'm succeeding. Have a good one.

 

P.S. I used to hang out with some New Zealand guys (I was sooo much younger) -- I remember them being great fun, so I'm sure your daughter and her family are having a blast down there.

Good morning all!

 

I am checking in a little earlier this week as I'm a tad excited because after a few weeks being stuck at 136 I was pleased to see a drop of 2lbs on the scales this morning!! Hooray! So that officially takes me over 50lbs weight loss, which after a nice meal on Tuesday for my birthday is a fab little surprise. Smiley Happy

 

Honestly don't think I could have got past this milestone without the encouragement & kind words of this group. So thanks all! Smiley Very Happy

 

We've finally had a some sunny (but freezing, which I prefer to rainy) weather hit the UK so off for my parkrun Saturday morning & a nice walk round town. Hope you're all having good weeks & have great weekends! Smiley Very Happy
